This thing is amazing. It is amazing how well it works with old fragile corks. And it is amazing how expensive it is. It is basically a cork screw and an Ah So cork remover. Each of these independently costs about $10 (if that). Put them together into this devices and it is almost ten times that. ($145 when I bought it.) So, I resisted buying this because the expense seemed ridiculous. But after too many crumbled corks, I went for it. The thing actually works! If you are opening fine old bottles of wine, this may be just what you need -- at the price of one of those fine old bottles of wine! Cheers!

I've had too many corks fall apart in older bottles. This works great. It takes a little time, but completely worth it when opening bottles that are 20+ years old.
