Q: What length clock hands will work with this clockwork?

Use any length you want that works with your clock but be sure the hole is shaped same as what is on this mechanism

Q: Is the second hand continuous or does it tick?

it ticks as I recall (used it to replace my auntie's wall clock, so it is NOT here at my house) and the clock is very quiet.

Q: Can this be used without the second hand?

Yes. The hands are just pressure fit

Q: I need a movement with at least 5/8 of thread.......(clock face is 1/4” thick), What should I purchase?

I replaced the movement on a polished rock clock that we received as a gift a number of years ago with this unit. The thickness of the rock is about 1/2" and there were plenty of threads to secure the movement to the clock.
