Check Compatibility With Dongar Just to be Sure
Amazon erroneously says this is not compatible with my 2020 Highlander Platinum, but Dongar says it is. It worked like a charm. So if Amazon states it isn't compatible, double-check with Dongar to be sure.My Highlander has an assembly unit for the rear mirror and it was a bit difficult to remove. It is a two-piece design and those two pieces didn't want to separate so they could be removed. I had to install the adapter with that housing still intact which was a bit difficult. Then trying to get it all reattached was even more frustrating. I did finally get the two pieces separated. It would have made the whole installation only take a couple minutes if I had been able to do that right off the bat. Not a Dongar issue. This is a very clean installation and I am really happy with the purchase.

2019 Toyota Rav4 Limited DOES WORK!!!
I contacted DONGAR Support and let them know so hopefully they can update their list of cars that the DongarPro is compatible with.I have a 2019 Toyota Rav4 Limited. I didn't know if this would work so I reached out to support. They let me know that if my rearview mirror has garage door opener buttons on it (which it does) then I may be able to give it a try. I am so glad that I did.The DongarPro Installation was extremely simple. After popping the plastic protector away from the rearview mirror, I unplugged the connector that was already there, plugged in the DongarPro, and then plugged the rearview mirror back into the female end of the DongarPro cable. From there, I turned on the car to make sure that my rearview mirror still received power and it did. The installation itself after finagling the wiring back into the plastic protector was maybe 5-7 minutes it didn't take long at all. It would take less time if your rearview plastic doesn't give you a hard time like mine did. From here, I made sure my dashcams worked before running wiring (I got the Viofo A229Plus on Black Friday sale so the cams were not installed yet)with the DongarPro I didn't have to hardwire my dashcam to my car and it made the process VERY easy. I just plugged the usbc end of the Dongar into my dashcam and it turned on right away. From there, I ran the wires, mounted my cameras and BOOM all was done. The parking modes are the star of this show. At first, I thought the parking mode didn't work, but then went into my settings of the viofo dashcam and found the issue. Be sure that when you get a dashcam, or even if you already have one, your dashcam has parking mode capability. From there, go into your settings and be sure that the parking mode setting is turned on. Once I did that, I made a test run to the grocery store, and sure enough, it worked. The two modes that are most likely used will be "Ignition" and "Timed" ("Continuous" mode just runs your camera 100% of the time until it detects your battery is getting too low then shuts off). So for me, when I went to the grocery store, I put the DongarPro switch on "Timed". Which records for up to 4 hours or until your battery is too low. I was only in the store for 10 minutes and was happy to come out to the car and my dashcam was still on. (I posted the pictures of the dashcam on, the car off, and the DongarPro light green showing that it's working) I went home and checked the SD card to find that my entire store run had front and back camera recordings of the parking lot.Additionally, when I got home, I switched the DongarPro to "Ignition", and sure enough, the dash cam turned off when the ignition turned off. I am very happy with my purchase!

This works great on 6th gen Subaru Outbacks (2025)
Works great on my 2025 Outback, easier than anticipated to install… watched a bunch of vids on similar Subaru installs (Crosstrek, Accent, Forester - no recent Outback install vids out there?) to know where to pry to remove cover and which plug you want to use the adapter on.

Great dash cam adapter
Great adapter that works with parking mode. It allowed me to install my dash camera myself. Without it I wouldn’t have a dash camera.

Works great with 24 Tacoma and VIOFO camera
Works great in my 24 Tacoma Hybrid! Using with VIOFO A229 pro. VIOFO parking mode doesn’t work but Dongar keeps the camera on for an extra 4 hours so that works for me. Super easy and clean install compared to the old add-a-fuse kits!

This device can damage your car
Folks, buy this product at your own risc. I am a very technical person, I don't earn commissions, but I feel that's my responsibility to share my story with the other unsuspecting potential customers. I've bought and easily installed a Dogar Pro device on my Lexus RX350. However, once I've turned the engine on, I've got a warning message on my my car's dashboard stating that one of my car's *safety* components is malfunctioning and that I need to immediately bring the car to a Lexus dealer for further investigations. My car is quite new and kept in perfect condition, so one could imagine the shock I've suffered. I have immediately turned the engine off, removed the device, and then tested the car again. Sure enough, the warning on the dash- went away! A day later, replaced the defective Dongar device with a similar one from another brand, bought also from Amazon. With the new device, everything is woking now like a charm, no problem at all. The morale is that I feel myself a very lucky man after dodging what looked like a giant bullet. I don't know whether the problem was caused by this particular item that was faulty or it's a fundamental design or manufacturing problem that needs to be addressed.
