Purchased this grater after our old one broke. This grater has a very sharp blade unlike our old one. It shreds the cheese finely and perfectly and without lots of effort. Cleans up nicely too. I recommend this product.

I had an older version of this grater and it lasted for nearly 20 years, so when the part that holds the cheese against the blades finally cracked, I naturally wanted to buy the same one again. But this new version isn't nearly as good as the old one. The tapered cutting barrel is good in theory, but they've added plastic ribs inside, which makes it impossible to clean. Also, the crank handle is permanently attached to the smaller end of the barrel which also makes is hard to clean. And the handle on the old version was flat, which was much easier to grip, and it spun freely as you turned the crank. The new handle is small and round and fixed, meaning that it must spin against your fingers as you turn the crank. Very poor design.I loved the old one, but I hate this.

We had the previous model which we loved but it broke in the handle area. This new version is made much stronger and it grates cheese even better than the older one. The new conical shape of the microplane is key. We love it! Would highly recommend.

Broke during first use. I pressed the handle down so the cheese is pressed into the grater, and the bottem part detached from the top. It seems there is no way to reattach. I think they use glue to attach the two pieces, which is crazy if that is how flimsy this is. I saw another reviewer recently listed the same issue. Maybe a bad batch.

works perfectly, disassembles for easy cleaning, well-made. Cant complain.

Best I could find but too nor far off from the others. I like the size of this one and the conical cutter. It is also a little more rigid than the top reviewed grater. Great for Parmigiano or Asiago. If you don't cook much then you probably dont know these are for hard cheese and not soft cheese. Wish someone would make a S/S version with these tolerances, that would be 5 stars!
