Great for convenience
I take my Aeropress to work and used to use the inverted method, so this is ideal for me. No more worrying if someone will knock it over in the communal kitchen, I can just leave it on the mug to brew. I can't really taste a difference between the usual cap and this using a paper filter, but it's worth it for the convenience alone. Hurry up and make one for the Aeropress XL.As someone else mentioned, it has an interesting flatulence sound as you push out the air at the end of the brew, a bit embarrassing in the aforementioned communal kitchen.Cleaning isn't as easy, you don't get the satisfying coffee puck at the end, and the paper gets stuck in the cap. Make sure you don't lose the rubber seal when you're knocking out the paper. Also, a bit pricy. I paid about as much for this as I did the whole Aeropress 5 years ago, still worth it for the amount I use it though.

Simple to use, improving the brew process and quality of coffee
I have used an Aeropress for the past year and have been really pleased with it. It has saved time and money queueing at Costa Coffee for a mid-morning caffeine fix, whilst allowing me to enjoy a superior coffee from my choice of freshly-ground coffee beans. My only problem was that when I added hot water to the grounds, a variable amount would go straight through to my cup before having a chance to brew. This flow control filter cap solved this problem by ensuring that the water stays put until the brewing process has been completed. I used the flow control filter cap with my standard paper filters. The quality of coffee is definitely improved by using this cap. It has a better crema and a smoother taste. The filter cap is easy to grip, making it simple to twist on and off. The filter paper sometimes stays in the flow control filter cap, something that didn’t happen as often with the standard cap. However, it is easy to remove the paper and rinse out the cap so it is ready for its next brew.

Coffee now tastes like coffee!
So glad I bought this. Really stops the substantial dribble that immediately happens with filter paper (unless you use four or five at the same time like I was doing, thus not cost effective), which waters down the flavour of the coffee. My coffee now tastes so much nicer. Only annoying factor is when you plunge, some of coffee can come out the sides for some reason, but I have learned to plunge very slowly. Another annoying factor was that a few days after buying it, the price had dropped down to £26! Definitely buy if you want to get the full benefit from your Aeropress.

Worthwhile upgrade
I'm really happy with this. It allows me to leave the coffee brewing as long as I like before I filter it.Pro tip, if the coffee is a bit leaky check the rubber gasket is in place. I made this mistake after washing it one time.

This should come with the Aeropress
I'm so pleased I bought this.I no longer need to do the risky flippy method that's caused all sorts of messes and minor injuries to avoid the weak drips that happen with the normal Aeropress method.I also no longer need to even get a mug to start the brew, just pot it down on the counter and start making it, not a drop gets spilt.I use it for a full "4" almost-a-full-mug brew with 15-16g of light roast coffee, but have also used it to create a faux espresso as I assume was intended. I didn't get any crema at all, but the taste was good following a 20g coffee 50g water recipe with 30s agitated brewing followed by a fast press all the way through the grounds.Note: It makes some interesting "flatulent" noises both at the beginning of the brew and the end, as the valve pushes air through, but who doesn't like a fart noise? My wife's review is that it's better than the sound of my grinder anyway!

it's good but can leak
I've seen others have this problem and it appears I have it too. Overall I don't regret my purchase as I feel that it has improved the coffee but it does have a tendency to leak a little when pushing the coffee. Also the paper filter sticks to the inside every single time which is annoying.

Perfect for inverted brewing, or longer brew times
The standard cap works fine for typical brewing, but this pressure controlled cap allows for longer brew times, and makes it much easier (and safer) to do inverted brewing - except you don't really need to do that anymore, as this cap won't let a drop out until you press.

Disappointing Fit and Performance
I’m quite disappointed with this product. It doesn’t fit the chamber well at all and is a real struggle to remove. I even had to double-check whether it was an official item because the fit is so poor.Unfortunately, it leaks from the sides and causes coffee to overflow, which is frustrating. On top of that, I didn’t notice any improvement in the flavour either.Overall, not worth the price or hassle.
