Excellent product and idea especially for flies and dog hair in the height of summer that hasn't sunk yet to the bottom..I bought this for that reason and of course did not work with the standard 330 gph pump you get with most pool kit's..So you will need to upgrade your pump..Myself I bought a 1500gph pump for a 10 feet pool..As the skimmer needs bottom pressure to suck on the debris basket to then skim the water.. And collect the surface debris..It will not clean the bottom of the pool so you would still need and bottom pool cleaner that plugs onto a hose pipe..I write this review as information on set up for the skimmer was difficult..I hope this review helps other's..

Very useful as extra cleaning for pool on top of filtering

No doubt it's a good item but it is HUGE. Time I fit it in my pool there won't be any room to get it.Guess I should have done some research first as to sizes but didn't think a skimmer would be this big.Suppose it's ment for a pool bigger than mine.Never mind, live and learn.

So I bought this pool skimmer for my above ground pool and WOW I thought it was amazing and great value for money. So easy to fit and removes anything that is floating around in the pool 10/10 from me for this product and would definitely recommend to anyone you would not be disappointed.

No good for bugs or small grass cuttings. wish I had not got it. And kids keep on knocking it off when playing in the pool. It’s only good for leafs etc size. I don’t have that issue, just bugs and grass etc. I just rinse the filter everyday day with the hose now.It is study and thick plastic, not broken when kicked by kids. So get it if you have surrounding trees as it does stuck up bigger stuff. I did use a sock on it but if like mine the grass went under as it floats and not in via the big opening. Then it still got to the filter anyway.Maybe if I overfilled the pool more it might work better.

The media could not be loaded. This skimmer was cheap as chips so I didn't expect to much , well how wrong was I its brilliant as my pump is good and have sand filter its great works very well , we did try it on my sons pool but he only has standard small pump and it barely worked so guys its not the skimmer its depends on your pump is strong enough my pool is always clear of debris floating im extremely pleased

Looks to be suitable for the job, but unfortunately a poorly made piece of kit, refuses to stay in place as the two plastic clamps do not grip properly onto the swimming pool rails, I also had to adulterate the adjusting sliding mechanism, as the unit was far to high out of the water to even work. The unit is also very buoyant so one has to put lead weights inside the collection basket to hold it down to the surface level of water.
