The product itself is excellent; the seller is not
I believe either the developer above or color I ordered at the same time from a different seller naturally was defective, dated or something was wrong. I did get a reply from this outfit stating their product is replaced every 60 days. I heard this somewhere else once with another product - perhaps the usual spiel for substandard items. In any event I w ill be ordering elsewhere from now on.

Great product
I used this developer to mix with Satin 6N and it covered all my grays. This developer is very gentle on hair and does not leave a lingering ammonia smell.

Recommend for Gray Hair
I love this product, I have many allergies. My hair is gray/white I use 8G color. Works great.

Doesn't cover greys as good as other products
I dyed my hair with Satin brand dye and used the regular Satin brand developer. It was a waste of time and money, it didn't cover well. Then I discovered that there was a version specifically for gray hair. Again, a waste of time and money. It wasn't much different than the first one I tried.
