Great read
Another gem of a diabetes book.

excellent and clear advice
Just reading this made me feel more in control. I wish I’d read it years ago. It cuts through the nonsense that often surrounds dietary advice and diabetes and gives facts and advice in an absolutely clear and reassuring way. Thank you so much.

A book worth mentioning!
A wonderful, short book which I wish I'd found long ago! The summaries at the ends of chapters are especially helpful to any family doing its best to keep up with all things diabetic and dietary. True, there is a lot more help Out There than ever, but it's also good to have a proper reference at home. Thank you!

This book will shock and inform in equal measure
I was recently diagnosed as being diabetic with very high blood pressure. The result of ignoring diet and exercise for years (I'm 55). However. The diagnosis still came as a surprise and I'm very keen to address it. This book is one of the first steps. Boy, was I knocked over in the first few pages. If the intention was to shock, it worked. It is uncomfortable to turn each page and understand the medical implications. There is no sugar coating! The problem and solution is clearly set out and addressed... but be prepared for a big life reset if you follow the advice...and an uncomfortable read as you get up to speed. Good luck!

Even if you are not pre-diabetic.......
Even if you are not pre-diabetic, I thoroughly recommend reading this book and then take action to correct your weight!I bought this book because my partner was type 2. He was dragging his backside on reading the book (you know the saying, you can drag a horse to water but you can't make it drink)! I got frustrated that he hadn't made the effort to read it. So, I started reading the book and I just couldn't put it down. It gives such a good understanding and logical reasons as to why there is such an explosion into type 2 diabetes, the awful effect type 2 has on our life going forward and also the reason why rapid weight lost is the best solution. Regular slow diets don't work because we lose momentum. losing a pound here and there is a slow process and we often give up and go back to our bad habits.I am (or was, 2 stone over weight). I didn't actually have any thoughts on type 2 diabetes before reading the book. It's not a path I want to head down so I took the action recommended. The weight is falling off me and I just don't feel hungry or have any cravings.One other point I really like is knowing this book has not been written for the authors financial gain and all proceeds go to Diabetes UK.If you are Type 2, or just plain overweight, do yourself a favour and read this excellent book. You won't want to put it down and you will be left with the desire to take corrective action before its too late.
