Q: Do I have to put these is a dark enclosed space like a cabinet or can they be out in the open?

The moths come out when it is dark and they are attracted to light at night. I put all three traps in the open areas, not in cabinets. In fact, I have caught more moths in an area close to a night light. I have caught nearly 200 moths in those three traps. And I did not think that I had a bad moth problem. Turns out that I did. The attractant in the traps brings them out like a lure.

Q: Other moth traps say not to put two in the same space, it will confuse the moths. What is the spacing on these?

Hello, Thank you for your question. We recommend placing each of the traps about 8-10 feet away from each other to create a web. The trap placement won’t confuse male moths. Hello, Thank you for your question. It is unlikely these traps will attract any moths from outside. Our Pantry Moth Traps contain a pheromone specific to the Indian Meal Moth.
