If you are setup to run Arduino Esp32 bards, then this will be a great new addition. The only thing I had to was reduce the upload speed from 921600 to 460800.

A nice alternative to a UNO R3 that also has a number of extra features such as built-in WIFI and Bluetooth thanks to the ESP-WROOM-32 MCU on it. It's not the newest ESP32 product but it gets the job done -- most of the time. Some of the pins won't work with some UNO R3-based shields because those pins if occupied during boot will cause the device to either fail to boot or immediately reset. I had this problem with an old Ethernet/SD card shield and I suspect any shield that uses certain pins (I think GPIO12 is one of these?) will cause problems.I got it for pretty cheap but it came with literally nothing else -- I don't recommend this option for brand-new users as you'll need an adapter, breadboards and maybe a case. However if you already have these things and just want something in an UNO form factor with WIFI and Bluetooth then this is a pretty good deal.

This board is my 1st and 3rd experience with arduino. On the first board I couldn't upload anything. I figured maybe it didn't have the bootstrap in it, so I bought one of those and tried again. Nothing. Some of the soldering on the board looked like rework. Tried everything I could think of and any suggestions I could find on the internet, and nothing worked, so I returned it as DOA. Amazon sent me a replacement. In the meantime, I ordered another UNO R3 made by ELEG. I got it same day. Plugged it in and it worked the first time I tried it. Received the replacement board today. Bad solder job again. The barrel connector and one of the I/O connectors are soldered on crooked. I tried loading both the bootstrap and the program with a USBtiny programmer. Still nothing. I paid twice as much for the ELEG, but the time I've wasted on the Hiletgo makes the ELEG look like a bargain.

I had alot of difficulty getting WiFi to work consistently when not hooked to the Arduino development environment AND serial monitoring enabled. Once it was moved off the environment and powered off a 9v wall wart wifi would work for a half hour or so then lock up. On the development environment with serial monitor enabled the same program worked forever.Eventually I figured out the EN (reset) line into the ESP32 was being held at near 5V by the reset / program interface that involves a couple of transistors and the USB to serial interface chip (this chip and it's outputs work at 5V) The only time this is not the case is when the serial monitor in the Arduino environment is in serial monitor mode at which point the EN pin is held at 3.3V by the reset circuit pull-up resistor.On a whim I added a 3.3V zener to ground from the RST line, this completely fixed the problem.

Works as expected. Hatd to find elsewhere at this price
