Good color, wish there was a master color chart somewhere.
I really love how this kit is set up to be able to make any color. I bought it because I was making a spatula painted cake for a friend’s daughter who is an artist, so I wanted it to look like an oil painting on canvas. However, there is no master chart as far as i can see that shows you how to make every color. I had to google and use a chart from another food color company and hope it was close. Combined with my knowledge of the color wheel i was able to get pretty close to the colors I wanted. The booklet it comes with has recipes for only 6 colors. The colors are super saturated and do not thin out frosting which is awesome. But, if you need a pale pastel color and are only mixing in a small amount of frosting I would suggest to have a small container to put the desired food colors in first, mix with a tooth pick and then take only the little bit thats on the stick into the frosting to color it. Some of the recipes i found were easy to half and get a less saturated color, but even one drop of this stuff is pretty saturated!

Used the neon colors
I loved this color gel. I used them for a neon party with my royal icing. There are regular colors and neon. I like how the instructions give you a guide on which colors to mix and how much color to use to make neon colors.

Great color
I started using these food colors by chance, and am slowly transitioning to use these for almost everything. They give such deep colors with a small amount of food color. If I don't want a bright or really dark color, I often still use regular wilton gel food colors, as they give more subtle colors. But these are amazing for getting dark red and blue, burgundy, etc.

This is NOT for buttercream
I loved how I could get exactly the shade I wanted as easily as mixing paint with these. I was able to make the perfect pallet with this and was over the moon with the shades I could achieve for a Winnie the Pooh cake. However I need to share that this is not for buttercream. User error on my part but I really with i had noticed these were not gel before a double batch of Italian meringue buttercream was trashed because it curdled. I’m not taking any points off for this because it was my fault but I am warning y’all so no one else has a crying meltdown on their kids birthday. It would be wonderful for icing (you know, like it says on the package) or baked goods. Just not fat based frosting…My only complaint is that it says ultra concentrated but it took quite a lot of some colors to achieve even a pastel shade.

Nice colors
This color system works very well. I've used the gel colors that Wilton makes and they just never seem to get dark enough. These colors can definitely get very dark and they don't add an unpleasant taste. If you run out of frosting and have to make a second batch, it is a little hard to get an exact match because, no matter how hard they tried, I don't think it's possible to get a uniform "drop" every time. The color may be a little bit different, but I would just add a few less drops than called for and you can add more if it needs to be darker. Also, as with any frosting coloring, always stir by hand--using an electric mixer adds air and makes your color too light (just in case you didn't know that). All in all, a great product and I will be buying refills when I run out. I like that they give you a lot of colors on the chart to choose from.

Great for Bath Bombs (tips in review)
Used these to color bath bombs, took a bit of practice to get the colors right with them, but once I got used to using them I was very pleased with the end product! The included color charts were very helpful!**Tips for using these with bath bombs:**For color THROUGHOUT:Mix colors thoroughly with however much water you need for your bombs (usually 1-2 Tbs) first. Once you have your colored water, mix that in with the rest of your ingredients. For FLECKS of color:Drip drops of the food coloring directly into your bath bomb mix, use a large wisk to stir into the mixture.I like to use both techniques in the same bomb. For example for my "Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream" bombs, I make the bombs light green throughout, then add flecks of brown.Have fun!
