My cats love it!
Review: My Cats Love It!This cat scratcher is a total win! As soon as I set it up, my cats were all over it. The texture is perfect for scratching, and it keeps them entertained for hours. Best of all, theyβve stopped scratching my furniture!Itβs sturdy, lasts a long time, and doesnβt make a mess like some other scratchers. Whether your cat loves to scratch, lounge, or play, this is a great addition to any home. Highly recommend for happy cats and scratch-free furniture!

A bit small but my cat is a fan
I see the price fluctuate on this item a lot. For $6 I think it was a great buy, but I don't think its worth buying if its any more expensive than that. The scratcher is on the small side and its light, so when it first arrived, it used to slide around a lot when my cat tried to scratch on it. My cat has since learned the best angle to stand on it so it no longer slides. Since it is a cheap scratcher, there's a lot of cardboard pieces that come off when my cat scratches it. Its something that you will have to clean up often. My cat likes to sit and scratch on this often, so I'm definitely getting my money's worth. But it's definitely too small for him, I've seen him roll off of it multiple times. If he lays down on it he covers the entire scratcher with his body. For reference, he is 10 lbs. I've had the scratcher for about 6 weeks now and he's torn up one side already and I've flipped it over and he's already done some damage on the other side. It will probably last a few more weeks before I toss it. So depending on how much your cat scratches, the lifespan of the product is a couple months. I would recommend/repurchase for $6. Do not pay more than that for this product.

Cats love it
I have a seven pound ball of fury names Azrael. Azrael's sole purpose in life is to destroy whatever toys or scratching posts I bring home for her. Azrael is about 15 months old. In Azrael's short 15 months, she has destroyed three scratching posts. Now keep in mind that I don't just keep one scratching post in the house. To the contrary, I have at least one in every room of the house (I just counted nine in my head, but that may be off). My strategy for dealing with adolescent cats/kittens is to place a scratching post or pad in any place that I see them scratching up something I don't want them to scratch up. That strategy, along with a deterrent spray, will work after a while.I have another cat named Lucky who is far more gentle. He also has much larger claws. With opposable thumbs. When he reaches out his claws, it reminds me of that claw game where you can get a free hat. While he is very, very good at keeping his claws retracted, he sometimes needs to exercise them. Therefore, he also does a number on the scratching posts and pads that I bring home even if he uses them far less often.I like these scratching pads because they are inexpensive, and that makes them extremely replaceable when my cats inevitably destroy them. They are also surprisingly durable. The original one I bout about three years ago is still in my home, though I think it's days are now numbered. I see Azrael on it all the time. The problem is that, after three years of use, a small hole has developed. I decided that the hole posed an injury risk to a cat walking on it, so it needed to be replaced. I bought two more. The positives far outweigh the negatives here. Since I've already outlined the positive, I'll mention the negatives as well. The corrugated cardboard is not a barrier of any kind. In other words, if you sprinkle catnip on it, the catnip will fall right through to the floor. I found that when I do this, my cats will try to move the pad out of the way to get at the catnip. I personally don't even understand why they even include catnip. If you have cats, you should probably have some catnip somewhere in the house as well. This also makes a bit of a mess because the small pieces that the cats claw off when they are sharpening their claws fall through to the floor as well.I now have four of these (one of which is going in the trash due to its three years of abuse). I use them specifically in rooms and areas that don't have carpet. That makes the mess easy to clean up. For the rooms with carpet, I opt for a different option. I have two remaining scratching pads in my home that I will probably replace with these once they wear out.
