Helps dogs with anxiety
My Yorkie would shake in the car because his anxiety was real bad on car rides. He is a total different dog in his car seat. My husband & I can’t believe how relaxed he is while in it, he actually laid down and he’s never did that in the car before. I’m so glad I bought this for my fur baby

This is the 2nd one that I have bought for my dogs. It is roomy and provides security. My dog seems very comfortable in this car seat.

Best Dog Car Seat Yet
So I chose this dog car seat because it uses the car’s seat belt. After installing it (super fast) and having it in the car for some time, it is much more stable than other car seats that I have used over the last 12 years. Yes, there was this slight gap between my car seat and the dog seat, I folded up a beach towel and it solved the problem. As for the tether, I attached it to the shoulder strap. Any dog will be “strangled” in any dog car seat (other than an enclosed one) if you have them on a collar if they were to fall out. My dog is fine tethered to her harness.Yes, it seems crazy expensive to have this crunchy foam with this covering. The foam does become comfy immediately. (I was worried about this). I also was a bit considered that the front part would not give her any protection from forward movement ... but there is a good amount of “lip” to stop (or rest their head). The small takes up the ENTIRE front seat of my Jeep Cherokee. It is BULKY. But my 7.5# dog is happy, so I am happy. It has been tested on a 15hr road trip. I wish there were pockets on the outside so I could store some poop bags ... there may be on the more expensive models. So far I would not hesitate getting a new one when this one wears out.

All You Need To Know Re: Safety, Comfort, Size, and Smart Purchase Options
I have the Snoozer 1 car seat and my 8 lb coton de tulea and I both love it. I've had this car seat for 6 months so I can give a fair review of safety, comfort, size and purchase options.Safety: God Forbid that I get in an accident in my little convertible, especially if Molly is with me... but in such a case, the tether that attaches to her vest assures me that at least she won't be a projectile or fly out of the car. The car seat is made of foam so, worst case, she would knock against something soft instead of the hard plastic or metal bars used in some dog seats. Don't stop reading, that was the only morbid part.Comfort: When I had a passenger in the seat of my 2-seater, and luggage in the trunk, I had to bring the car seat into the house (TMI). During that time, Molly preferred jumping in the car seat and sleeping there, instead of using her dog bed. Actually, it's cute as an inside bed... I will resist saying it looks a bit like a throne. Both in the car and in the house, Molly likes to dig and circle before settling down; the tether allows that a little bit, and the fabric has stood the test.Size for Dog and Fit in the Car: It's a great fit for Molly, at 8 pounds, to sit and see outside or lie down. A 10 lb dog would fit well in the small seat. At 12 lbs, I'm guessing that a medium would be more comfortable. As an aside that probably isn't relevant to you, is that this car seat fits easily but barely into the trunk of a small Miata trunk; I don't think that the medium would. No, Molly doesn't ride in the trunk. Really, the only flaw is that, in a bucket seat, the car seat tips back. Any car seat that doesn't hang from the headrest would do that.... I wish it additionally had that additional hanging strap, but a pillow wedged at the back/bottom of the seat addresses the situation.Purchase: Probably by now you are (incorrectly) thinking that this is a paid review or that my sister works for the company.. No, I think I've had too much coffee... But know that Molly likes this seat so well that I'm getting another, this time a a Lookout II (which is the same but has a tray for the retractable leash). I'll use that one in the car and my present Lookout 1 in my house as a bed. Do Check Prices. I think that this Lookout 1 is the same price on the Amazon Site as the Snoozer site but if you're snooty and want a monogram (I don't) that's only an option through the manufacturer site.. or I guess on your own. Importantly, Lookout 11 was Much Less from Snoozer even before the 4th of July weekend discount. I suggest comparing Amazon, Snoozer and Chewy sites. This is so long I should publish it.

I love it, my dog loves it, we never ride without it (did someone say RIDE?)
I've been using Snoozer Lookout seats since 2014 in different sizes (and different cars and countries). I bought one most recently in 2019. My dog immediately took to it from the beginning and absolutely loves it. She even sits in it if I bring it into the house. In the car she likes being high up to she can see, or curling up after a tiring day. I like that it keeps her contained and strapped in. I don't use the seat belt tether that came with it, I bought a separate better one that I attach to the seat belt and her harness (never a collar!!).I've had a few near-miss accidents with my dog in the seat. With very suddent braking, she will fall forward and sometimes ends up falling out of the seat (my fault for having such a long seat belt for her). I'm pretty sure it saved her life once because I had to brake from 100 km/h (65 miles/h) to zero as fast as I could. That was really scary (for me and for her I assume). She ended up dangling between the car seat the the back of my seat, thankfully I could reach back and give her a little boost to get back on the car seat and then she hopped back in her Snoozer. Again, my fault for having a long tether, but the alternative would've been for her to go straight into the windshield at 100 km/h. I shudder to think about it, that she could've died from a near-miss. On a similar note, never ever put this in the front seat, the air bag from a minor accident would probably kill a dog. Another safety note, it's great to have your dog tied up when you open the car door.A few non-safety related notes. It's covered with a soft sherpa material which looks nice when it's new but gets dirty and matted down after a while. The cover is removable, but who wants to deal with washing it, I've only ever washed one once. I try to keep it covered with a blanket to keep it clean. As for sizing, the small is quite small even for my 15 lb dog (the first pic I posted, where she's wearing the bow, is the small size). The other pics I posted show the medium size, and it's more comfy for her, but it takes up 1.5 seats, so you can't have two people in the back with the dog (the reason I ended up having to buy the small too). The model with the little drawer is nice too, but may be hard to open the drawer depending on the clearance to the front seat.Hope this was useful. I highly recommend this seat. I've actually never used any other so I can't compare, but I've been happy enough to buy three different ones in two sizes.
