The product itself is excellent (thus the 5 star rating), but it's overpriced on Amazon. These bottles are super tiny. I can get the 700g sized bottle for about 8 or 9 dollars at my local Asian market. Unfortunately, by the time I realized this, I'd already received my shipment. Hope this helps someone else, though.

this is a product that you can put in any kinds of food and it will give some great taste boost.not only i use this for korean food like kimchi soup/miso type soup but i also use this for american food such as a corn beef, beef stew, chicken noodle soup! this is made naturally from mushroom and other natural ingredient but only down side will be this has preservatives in it.i don't mind about putting this like a half spoon to my food but if you are super earthy people you probably wouldn't want that.well i love this!

I read the wonderful reviews on Amazon and decided to give this a try. Aside from Korean dishes, I've tried using this to replace soy sauce for wasabi dipping and it is ok but not great. I've also tried to replace fish sauce and soy sauce in some other South Eastern Asian cooking, same result. There're many other soy and fish sauce which I can use interchangeably in different Asian cuisine in an attempt to downsize my seasoning pantry, but this is probably not one of them. However, I think these are great for Korean cooking so I'm still giving it five stars.The plastic bottle is shaped like the small glass bottles of Chinese soy sauce. I normally prefer glass or ceramic containers for seasoning but these plastic capes have one advantage over the glass bottle: the plastic cap on these plastic bottles do not leak. So although they're plastic, I keep them outside on the counter or on the table because they do stay clean.

I love just adding a touch of youndoo soya sauce in korean dishes in place of traditional soya sauce. It just adds an element of interest to my dishes. Second time purchasing and never disappointed.

I don't consider this as a replacement for any other sauce. It adds deep savory flavor to dishes without adding the soy sauce aroma or color, or saltiness. Adding small amounts to any of your favorite dishes will really heighten the taste. They could do exceptionally well marketing this in the US if they came up with a localized packaging. It'd be as popular as Kikkoman or Lea & Perrins.

I haven't purchased this from Amazon, but I was able to try Sempio Youndoo earlier this year, before it was available here. When I first got it, I really thought the packaging was aesthetically pleasing, and the cap/spout is well-designed (which seems like a stupid thing to note, but I have spilled more than my fair share of soy sauce from badly-designed spouts).I'm not much of a cook, nor do I have a distinguished palate, so this tastes to me like a more complex soy sauce, with a nuanced, savory flavor that makes dishes stand out. I originally thought "liquid seasoning" meant that it was a sauce to be generously used, but it's really concentrated so a little goes a long way. I guess it's meant to be used in place of MSG (which I've never used), but I honestly use it in place of soy sauce.I've recommended it to my friends and family, if they can find it. I don't cook often enough to justify buying a pack of 8 for myself, but I think it'd probably be a worthy investment to share with fellow cooks.As for any declared conflicts of interest: I did win this in a drawing for a sponsored event, but I certainly wasn't paid to write this review or anything.
