Well written an well acted film which reminded me of the popular Mel Gibson film “Forever Young”.“Late for Dinner” did not get the recognition it deserved when it was released. I found it quite accidentally on Amazon. It is a romance that moved me deeply and in which true love transcends the passage of time.If you like a beautiful love story with a happy ending, you will thoroughly enjoy this film. It will haunt you long after the viewing of the film.A 5 star film in every sense.

My favorite movie! Disc was in great shape, the DVD sleeve was trashed.

I knew I would love this movie the first time I saw a trailer, but it never came to a theater near me so I had to wait for it to come out on cable television - and then I recorded it. And wore out the tape. I bought the DVD from Amazon in 2011 and thought I'd left a review but apparently not so...Did I mention that I LOVE this movie? I know it was filmed with a low budget, but if you enjoy a good story and don't need to be entertained by a bunch of special effects, you might just like this one.In a nutshell, Willie and his special needs brother-in-law, Frank, are about to be framed for a crime they didn't actually commit. Willie is shot and Frank winds up taking him to a doctor. A sort of doctor. Long story short, they are frozen for almost thirty years.What follow when they thaw out in 1991 is a touching mix of humor and heartbreak (for the years lost). It's also a love story that literally stands the test of time. As does the movie, which is on my desk. I don't know how many times I've seen it now, but it's got to be pushing three dozen or more. Hopefully, DVDs don't wear out. :)

Saw this when I was a teenager, liked it. Enjoyed the movie.

This is an awesome movie that I actually saw in the theatre when it was first released. I actually owned a VHS version of the movie but it was poor quality and I was soooo hoping that they would release a DVD version and finally after all these years, here it is. If there's ever a movie to own, this is it! A well written, well directed love story that actually has a very simple plot, but the story is told so well and the actors are superb in delivering their performances. All this put together and you have one of the greatest love stories in movie history. 5 stars is a no brainer, it really deserves 6 stars. It's one of those movies that got lost in the shuffle amidst all these big budget hollywood movies. This is a "feel good" movie that everyone should see about two men frozen in time and come back to find out that life and the world has changed over 20 years later! I highly recommend this movie. You won't be disappointed.

DISCO TOSTADO

This was one of those movies I've been looking to buy for years. It's been hard to find at a reasonable price. It was still more than I usually pay, but so worth it. It's not the best transfer, and the movie is a very simple sweet love story. As i was watching it I did ask myself, why all the bother. this isn't Chinatown. But I still loved it, it was still a great simple perfect little film.

Interesting plot. Good acting. Fun and weepy moments. Frozen in time and then years later come back and fall in love with their loves who are now 29 years older than themselves! There's even the daughter who answers the door to her long lost father - looking exactly as he did the way she remembered him 29 years earlier. Pity it has not been released on DVD? Get the hanky out! Highly recommended.

Great flick!

So this movie along with others in the same series turns out to be 100% legit and official, but they are "on demand" titles, that are burned on a DVD-R disc, with professional looking disc art and the DVD case inlay also printed on demand. When I ordered this movie (that I'd been searching for for the longest time) I was NOT aware of these things and so I ended up asking for my money back for the item.As for the quality of the movie itself it looks very good (it being an official product and not pirated etc!) but it comes with no extras and from what I can remember no subtitles either. It's just the movie itself divided up into chapters. If you are wanting to watch this movie I would recommend you to buy this however - at the time of me writing this review the item description has still not been updated to inform any potential buyer that these movies are made on demand (as far as I can see)....
