I have an older steel road frameset that I built up with modern components. Was looking for a quill stem that can accommodate a 31.8 diam handlebars. (Zipp carbon SS in my case). Looks surprisingly nicely machined, installed in the headset with no issues. Even with the carbon friction paste and bolts tightened higher than 5nm, I still could rotate the bars and did not feel safe riding outside.

Pros: Simple solution to updating an old frame with a new handle bar.Cons: Requires the use of a rotary grinder (Dremel style) to bevel the edges of the interior mating surfaces for proper fit.Hex head screws fit into recess holes which are too small resulting in binding and deformation. Again, use a rotary grinder to enlarge the opening.These are issues that should be addressed with the machining program. Correcting these issues would result in a solid 5 star rating.I found this stem to be the best solution to my design goals after modification.

Mine fit and is usable. The red lower part was chewed up looking (and THEN they anodized it). Very poor quality control. On the plus shipping wasn't too long.

The stem looks sturdy and nice but is not the 80 mm as seller described ctc it is a 90mm. He offer to resend the correct one or refund the money.
