Looks great on my kitchen countertops but functionally much to be desired. The grinding gets pretty tough on the finer settings and takes a while. Quite inconsistent grind size on the coarser settings and the grind setting moves off position easily. The base of grinder would benefit greatly from a piece of rubber or some other material to avoid sliding and slipping on smooth countertops.

Ah, those days when you didn't get to just push a button to get the results you want. You actually have to grind this grinder, which is just fine with me. This baby can grind coffee so fine that my espresso machine can't push water through. I just backed off the adjustment wheel and got exactly the grind I was looking for. Everything is manual, super simple, a real pleasure to start my weekend espressos.

I like not needing electricity to grind coffee. This old-school, German-made grinder was exactly what I was looking for. It is easy to set the grind and intuitive to use. Only wish the drawer could hold more ground coffee. It barely fits that ground coffee from one hopper full.

I like my grinds to be really small... this grinder takes like 2 minutesish to fully grind on the smallest setting. Honestly, the process is fun so I dont mind. coarse grounds take only like 20-30 seconds

It took a few times before I found the right adjustment for a medium grind. I've also ground whole peppercorns with success.

Does an excellent job every mornings, enough said.

Well, I don't exactly look forward to grinding my own coffee by hand every morning, but I do enjoy the coffee. The worst part of this machine is loading in the beans. The opening is small and I have to do it twice for a 34 oz. french press. It takes about 1.5 minutes of grinding away, but loading adds about a minute, and I have spilled beans in the process. The rest of the day the grinder sits on the counter as a lovely decoration and doesn't take up much room.

I love this coffee grinder! I had an electric one that recently broke and couldn’t find any that weren’t made in China so we looked at mechanical solutions. This grinder is well made and easy to use! I set it for coarser grind when I’m making French Press coffee and a finer grind for pour over. If they make a larger one I would buy that too!

Lovely to use. Grinds coffee from coarse through to a very fine grind. Well made from beautiful wood. A really good quality item that I expect will last for many years.

Die Kaffeemühle ist gut verarbeitet. Der Mahlgrad ist schnell anzupassen, die Einstellung verändert sich beim Mahlen nicht.Beim Mahlen selber ist, wie nicht anders zu erwarten, der Widerstand der Kaffeebohnen zu spüren, sie können sich auch kurzzeitig verhaken. Die Mühle muss dabei gut festgehalten werden.Ich nutze das Mahlgut für eine Pressstempelkanne und finde das Ergebnis überzeugend.

It's nice but difficult to clean

Die Verarbeitungsqualität der Mühle ist gut. Sie ist gut zu händeln, also man klemmt sie zwischen die Beine und dreht an der Kurbel, so wurde das vor 60 Jahren auch schon gemacht. Dadurch lässt sie sich prima bedienen. Der einzig negative Punkt ist dem Umstand geschuldet, dass die Lagerung des unteren Mahlwerkes nicht optimal gelöst ist. Dadurch, dass die untere Lagerung in 4 dünnen Plastiknasen besteht, ist damit zu rechnen, dass diese irgendwann verschleißen. Dieser Umstand war mir aber bekannt. Da ich die Mühle nur bei einem Stromausfall benötige, sie also recht selten genutzt werden wird, ist es für mich in Ordnung. Der Rest der Verarbeitung ist sehr gut. Als Dekoration in der Küche macht sie auf jeden Fall etwas her. Wenn man die Körnung nicht zu grob einstellt, dürften die Nasen auch länger halten. Bei extrem grober Einstellung, wird der Mahlkegel durch diese Nasen geführt. Der Preis für diese Mühle ist allerdings viel zu hoch, die Hälfte wäre angemessen. Für eine Dauernutzung kann ich die Mühle nicht empfehlen, weil das Problem mit der Lagerung besteht.
