12 Pack of Da Bird Feather Refills

My cats love the sounds the feathers make when they twirl through the air. Unfortunately the first two features I opened from this bundle hardly spin at all. They were also able to easily pull the feathers out of the cap when playing with them. These are significantly worse than the feathers that came with the original wand. Disappointed kitties. :(

I've tried other similar feather toys with my cats, but none of the others have the same care taken in setting the angle of the feathers to generate the correct amount of cat-exciting spin. Da Birds are more expensive, but they're the best, and there's no real point to trying to "save money" by buying cheaper imitations that the cats aren't interested in playing with. The last dozen I bought, I've noticed that some of the feathers are not solidly glued in, and can get rotated out of alignment during play. Fortunately, they can be easily twisted back into alignment for maximum spin.

I purchased the 12 pack of refills because my kittens took less than a week to destroy the refills available at a local store. These have different feathers-- they're softer and seem to "fly" better, too. After a week of heavy play, the kitties haven't "killed" it. It is showing wear, but nothing that suggests it's time to replace it. Very happy and glad I've got eleven more waiting in the wings!Edit to add: One week later, and the refill is "dead". That means these refills stood up to three very active 6mo old kittens for two weeks. That's two weeks, twice a day at least, of serious chomping, swatting, chasing, biting, thwacking, and all around destroying. These refills are well worth the money!Edit to add again: Some other reviews have complaints about the refills from particular vendors. I just want to say I ordered from "Great Price Fast Service". The refills are in Da Bird packaging and appear to be genuine. I'll be re-ordering from them again!

My cats LOVE Da Bird toy. The feather attachments are their favorite. They like the fur and mouse attachments too though. Once you've determined that your cats love the feather attachments, only buy in bulk. The attachments will also last longer if you put the toy up after play. Otherwise, your cat will play with the toy on her own - chewing on the feather and destroying the bizarre whipping aerodynamics of this attachment which make it so interesting in the first place. Once the feathers are sufficiently mangled I put on a new attachment and leave the old attachment out for them to bat around and play with on their own. This method seems to work well - keeps them happy and the toy lasts longer.Thanks for taking the time to read my review, and I hope you found it helpful in making a purchase decision.

Every cat I've shown this toy to goes off the wall bonkers! My cat will chase this toy relentlessly and will loose track of where he's running, somtimes running in to a table or couch instead of under or over it.If you don't have a DaBird yet, I strongly suggest you order the complete kit with the wand, string and feathers, the string they use is ideally suited to the job and the replacements I've been using are lackluster. I wish someone would sell the DaBird string refills.The site and sound of this toy spinning just drives cats nuts, they simply have to catch and destroy the feathers. It works well as an aerial or ground toy.Just be sure when you are done playing with this toy that you lock it away where your cat can't get to it otherwise they will find it and drag it around the house, string, wand and all.

I am thankful these come in 12 packs. I bought my latest batch directly from go-cat.com and saved $6.00. Somehow, we always figure out a way to make cat play new with this product. The latest, a pile of pillows on the bed or the floor. Whip the feather to one side of the pile and watch the fun. Our cats pounce over the pillows, slowing them down just enough so I can save the feather from total cat destruction... and back to the other side. Repeat over and over. :)9/2014 - Be careful of the reseller. I recently purchased a twelve pack from CoolCyberCats and they were not the same as this pack. The feather toys would not flutter, they were shorter, thinner, and didn't make a whizzing noise. My cats are not as interested.

I noticed that several reviewers mentioned that the feather refills they received appeared to be "generic" and not genuine Da Bird refills...but no one mentioned which seller they bought from. When placing my order, I chose CoolCyberCats as the vendor/seller, since they had 100% positive reviews. (Note: they were not the default seller, but I selected them under "Other buying choices" on the right side of the product page.) The service and the product were just what I was hoping for! I placed my order on a Sunday and received a shipment confirmation a short while later. The feather refills are each individually packaged in the Da Bird brand packaging. They are just like the feathers that came with the original toy, and even came in a "rainbow" assortment of colors, which was a nice touch!

These are genuine DaBird refills by GoCat, a great savings over buying individuals in store. These are made with guinea fowl feathers instead of the colored feathers like those available in stores. They are just a bit shorter and lighter with the main feathers having a slight bow to them resulting in a slower more gentle flight, they almost float through the air but still flutter, seems more inticing to the cat then the heavier store bought ones, these also have a more natural look thean the colored ones. My bengal (Buddy) has loved the store bought DaBirds for the last three years but he is absoloutly crazy over these. Undeniably the BEST cat toy EVER, Awesome, Buy these with confidence.
