Keeps pups safe & can use it for training too!
This is perfect for what I wanted! I spend a lot of time outside around my house and both of my dogs like to be near me - as most furbabies like to be with their owners :) My backyard is enclosed - so there it is never a problem when I am out back. But my front yard is not. This line overhead cable was fairly easy to install. I put this up between a tree and one of the posts on my carport next to my garage about 50' apart. I am a 61-year old widow. No man around to help me. And I was able to do this pretty easily. You will need a ladder to install it 10 feet off the ground on both ends. And I highly recommend a drill and a power screw driver to screw the long screws deep into hard wood. For me it would have been difficult to screw these long screws into hard wood by hand. I just drilled a pilot hole first, then used the power screw driver to screw in the screw.I have a 45 lb STRONG 11-month old Goldendoodle - along with a 13 year old WIMPY (but very sweet) Shih Tzu. I was able to hook up both dogs to this - and it worked perfectly for them. They can (and do) get out of the sun when they want to by going under the carport. I don't have to worry about them getting themselves wrapped around a tree or something and injuring themselves when they are running back and forth. Very secure! I purchased the 100 foot line even though I am currently only using 50 feet of it. I wasn't strong enough to tighten this 50 foot line tautly, so it does sag a bit in the middle. It's 10' feet high on both ends (manufacture suggestion) but only about 8 to 8-1/2 feet in the middle due to sag. But the sag in no way distracts from the usefulness of this overhead cable. Also, it is a great way for me to hook up my Goldendoodle pup for training! It keeps her in a fairly confined area (50' line with approximately 7 feet on both sides to move around). With this line I don't have to worry about her running out in to my street or the forest if she gets a sudden urge to chase squirrel, deer, elk, fox or another dog being walked in front of the house. We have room to work/train - and her focus stays on me. I have a lot of people walking by through out the day - and that works for a great "test" distraction especially when I am working on the "stay" command! I have had many people compliment me on the line adding "what a great idea!" I would highly recommend purchasing one of these if you don't have a fenced in area to keep your pets safe. Also great for "guest pets" too!I would NEVER recommend putting your furbaby on this and leaving them unattended for any length of time - if they are attacked by another "loose" dog or something worse - they have no way to get away! But overall - I feel it is an AWESOME product and I am so happy I made this purchase!

Works just as described!
Great product. It is a little heavy for our 8# Bichon though. She can pull it just fine and it's great for keeping her close when we are out in the yard, but is more suited for a bigger pup. We have done a work around with her narrow leash attached to the hook on the Four Paws rig. That works much better because it doesn't have the weight of the overhead cable. Love the product, and would recommend.

Reasonably good but allow slack
Made with generally high quality materials but like a chain, the weakest link is an issue. It's a very strong 100' cable and somewhat heavy as a result. I ran it between two large trees approx. 90' apart and connected it using the supplied hardware. The cable has a pre-attached spring at one end that is supposed to allow some give. Unfortunately, the spring is undersized based on the weight of the cable and is completely compressed even when the cable itself is not tightly strung. As a result, 4 days after installation when some 1-20 mph wind gusts flexed the trees (large, ~100+ feet tall) the pre-installed loop that attached the spring to the cable failed and the cable disconnected from one tree. Luckily, the trolley itself did not come off the cable and the dog did not escape.I've since transitioned to a spring more in line with those you see on garage door openers to maintain some give. Keep in mind, this is for 50 pound and up dogs and I'm using it for our 22 pound 10 month old beagle. She's feisty and fast but certainly under the parameters for the device. So, it's a useful device but be aware that it has a weakness due to the mechanical stress potential in a standard installation and you might want to anticipate that with a stronger spring/relief mechanism. Beagles are affectionate and fun little dogs but they're easily distracted by scents and at risk of wandering off and into traffic. They're also so focused on sent that an invisible fence is only a slight distraction. If you go with standard fences then all the experts suggest you bury 6-12" of the bottom of the fence so they don't dig out. That's quite an expense for the range they need to exercise, hence the trolley approach -- but it needs some modification.

Excellent..
Most trolley runs are only 50 ft. but we needed 88 ft. and this worked really well from one end of our yard to the other. Our Buddy is free to roam within our property and is happier now.

works as advertised
Great bit of kit. The only concern is rust as some of the bits will suffer under the weather in Canada.
