This is the CD burner that you want!
This is great and did exactly what I needed and was worth the price! The design for the CD burner itself is very sleek and wasn't too bulky/awkward. There's a place on the bottom of the device that lets you fold the attached USB cord up and it keeps the cord neat/protected/organized, and is good for storing the device after it's been used. The best part of this product is the instruction manual that comes with it. The instructions are worded well and make what could be a confusing and stressful task into one that makes sense and is easy to figure out. The instructions also explicitly cover both Mac/iOS configurations and Windows configurations, so the device is not only usable on most computers, but you know how to use it on most devices too. Great product and a really easy way to preserve physical media!

No problem so far on my 2023 Mac Mini with an attached USB cord
The item came in good time and well boxed. I had to wait for a week or so to test it out. But, it was a plug and play. I have a 2023 Mac Mini with a usb cord attached. I attached the device to the usb head, and things took a minute to happen when I put a CD into it, but then it came up fine. I've only tested with 1 music cd that had been burned, and the music came up fine. Next I will try data transfers etc....will update more as I explore. So far I'm happy. The cord was not problem, being able to use the usb extension cord...and the short cord on the device is stored neatly under the device when not in use. This is not as sturdy as some ... but if you treat it carefully it should be fine.

Good external dvd drive but one issue
So i had a dell optiplex 390 that didnt have a disc drive inside so i got this and all i had to do was plug it in and it worked perfectly. also it sometimes when im in the game or just nba 2k14 i have a problem with the game or dvd drive, when im playing a mycareer game or a game mode sometimes it just freezes then waits a bit then goes back and the longer i play the more it happens and longer it takes to go back to normal for some reason and i don’t know the problem but still good product.

Bios easily recognized it
While I haven't tried to burn anything with the device yet, I have used it to install an operating system on a new build desktop where an internal reader was not an option. The device was recognized from the bios and was able to use an operating system cd to complete the install. As that was the reason for purchasing the device, it was well worth to money as it served its purpose.

Great External CD/DVD ROM
I purchased this external CD/DVD player to use when restoring my laptop after I had to replace the internal sdd drive that came with it. Worked well plus left me with the convenience of having a CD/DVD drive to play and access files (data and music) from the many CDs and DVDs that I had in the past. I also still have some blanks which can be used for storage. It's good to be able to access already saved files instead of having to copy them onto an external hard drive or other portable device.

Plug it into the back
Thought I was reliving the 90's where I pay 20$ for one CD, but not only did this writer return to life after a 3 year hiatus, it survived quite a bit of percussive maintenance this morning (um ...sorry!). Important: connect to a USB port in the back of your PC tower. I don't know why, but all of my front "powered" USB ports that power everything else in the world do not work on this writer anymore. First time I used it, it worked perfectly. Put it away for years and hooked it up and it just kept clicking. Plugged it into the back and its working well. Performance: Connects fine, burns slow, reads fine, love that I can't lose the little tiny USB cord.

Decent Burner
I bought this burner in 2021 and have been using it on-again and off-again, but recently it hasn't been able to burn any of my blank CD's (DVD's still burn though). For some reason, they all show up as "Full" every time I try a different CD no matter the program I use, but the CD's I've burned in the past still work and sound great. I've tried it with other computers and they do burn, so I'm not sure what the issue with this drive is, but as a simple burner, it worked well for what I needed it for. If you want to encode any metadata in any of your tracks or have zero gap tracks, this isn't the burner for you, and for the lifespan it had, you may be better off spending a couple more bucks for something higher quality (not to dismiss the quality this product already had).

NOT COMPATIBLE WITH CHROMEBOOK
NOT compatible with Chromebook. I asked the Rufus ai thing before I bought it and it told me it was compatible, but it's not. The user manual says outright not compatible with Chromebook, so you will need a PC to use it. I went to my local Library to use it and it worked just fine but it was kinda annoying that I was misled.
