Absolutely adorable
Bought for 6 year old granddaughter, and it was completely worth it - all of us from age 4 to 85, were watching this little thing hatch - so glad I got it for her

I’m conflicted
The media could not be loaded. My daughter loves hatchimals. They’re an adorable idea and a lot of fun, but boy are they buggy. This is our second hatchimal and it got stuck hatching just like the first one. It already broke through everything but the bottom of the egg and continued to peck incessantly until we managed to pull the bottom shell off, which took so much force I was afraid I’d break it. After pulling it out it continued to try to hatch. I flipped it on and off, tried interacting and was just about to hit the reset button when for some reason it realized it was hatched. The toy is noisy and difficult to make work according to the directions. We do what they say to do on the sheet according to its stage and eye color, but more often than not it does not respond as intended. We also can’t get it to say her name no matter how many times we attempt to record. However. What’s important is my daughter loves it despite the frustrating bugs. It’s a fun experience for kids when it goes as planned and the toy itself is cute. As an adult, not a huge fan, but my daughter loves it and cares for it like it’s her baby. Also I like that this one is different from her first one in the sense that it actually walks around. It’s very cute.

Expensive buuut kid loves it.
So the idea of a hatchimal frightened me, and the reviews only helped bolster the fear. We got this for my daughter for her birthday, and I have to say this is a neat little toy. Took about 15 min to get to hatching stage, and while hatching was a bit iffy, because it didn’t understand that it finished and kept pecking at us until we got it to sleep to pull it out, it’s definitely holding up to it’s promise. My daughter hasn’t put it down for hours, it’s already gone from baby to toddler stage, and I have a feeling once it’s at kid, she will want me to reset it. She loves how you can teach it your name and it then uses your name during interaction. This is essentially the Furby of today (if you don’t count that furby upgraded and still exists!). It wants to play, gets mad, sick, sad, hungry, etc it also has a few games to play with it already programmed. Very cute, but not sure I wanna spend that much on an egg again 🤣

Kids love.
I don’t pretend to understand this toy but I have to admit that it’s cuter and more fun than I had thought it would be. I caved to my kids request and bought this for Christmas. The hatching was super fast and seemed much quicker than I had read it would be. Perhaps they made it faster than it used to be. They loved waiting for it to hatch and the surprise of finding out what it would be. They love the little noises and requests it makes. I do wish the sheet of instructions on the colors of its requests was sturdier. It should have been on a sturdy card instead of a flimsy instruction sheet. We still have no idea what ours is because it doesn’t match the ones on the instructions.

A hit for a 6 yr old imaginative girl
Decent play value for the $35 I spent. Parents seem to love it or hate it judging by the reviews. It has entranced my 6 yr old so I am happy. The hatching was cute and fun but she is enjoying it even more now out of the shell. She treats it like a baby doll and likes to take care of it as well as interacts with it. Only thing I’m not a fan of is the noisy mechanical sound it makes when it moves around but it’s certainly tolerable. It’s also smaller than it appears but decent size for what it is. Overall, I recommend it if you think your child could play with it beyond the hatching stage but I certainly don’t think it’s worth spending more than what I paid.
