Recently purchased a new car and when I went to hook my dashcam up to the car I realized the car didn’t have a cigarette port & needed to be plugged in with USBC. When I plugged the dash cam into the car the dash cam thought it was connected to a computer thus making the dash cam not record. This little adapter solved all my problems. Dash cam is now working as expected and is not going into data transfer mode. Great little adapter, small & compact!

They work great. They allow the phone to charge but block any data access.

Samsung S21 series phones only charge at 25 watts maximum despite using higher wattage chargers.With my phone set on standard charge rate (15 watts) and set to 80% max charge to retain battery longevity per Samsung recommendation, I used Samsung's standard charger with its USB-A to USB-C cable.I plugged the USB-C cable end into the data-blocker device and inserted it into my phone jack. My phone then displayed a message to check my charge cable (or something like that), then showed my current 53% battery level and a time of "2 hrs,13 min" to reach 80%. I waited a minute to see if the estimated time would actually change, which did. Extremely slow charge rate just as the listing description stated it would if not using a USB C-to-C cable.To test for a faster charge rate, I swapped my charge components for those with only USB-C connections and reinstalled the data-blocker device into my phone jack. Sure enough, phone now displays "30 min" to reach 80% (starting at 53%).[Update, 3/17/25]Tried using the USB-C ports in a rental car, using the same Samsung phone and charging cable as mentioned previously, with a 47% battery status. The displayed charging time showed "2 hrs, 34 min", yet displaying only "38 min" when plugging into a Samsung USB-C, 25 watt power adapter just minutes later in my home. I even experimented with flipping and rotating the cable / connector insertions, including the data-blocker, and experienced no changes in displayed charge times.Bottom line: The data-blocker device CAN facilitate quick charging as claimed, as long as all USB-C components are up to task.Disclaimer: I did not try plugging directly into the rental car's USB-C connector without the data-blocker device for obvious reasons, so I don't know what charging times would be displayed for comparison purposes vs my power adapter.

Did exactly what it’s supposed to do!

Tested with my pc and several chargers, can confirm that the fast chargers will still fast charge through these and data transfer does not even come up as an option when connected to a pc, though it will also complain about checking the cable and normal charge when connected to a pc this way.They are TINY: this is great for portability, but I can see how someone with large hands might have issues. Also might be prone to losing them when travelling if not careful due to that tiny size... good thing it's a 2-pack I guess, and the nice zip lock bag they come in can be useful for this too.Overall seems like a nice to have for peace of mind when travelling, though a bit overhyped as someone randomly targeting people with this type of hack is probably not that likely.

On two different smart phones, attached with top quality USB-C into USB-C port in the vehicle, the adapter does block the data transmission. But the phone throws a "check your charging" message and charges very slowly. I tried reversing them and flipping over, no change in results. Not throwing them away because I do want to block the car from hooking to the phone, but very disappointing that despite claims they don't allow fast charging.

Fixed my Magsafe annoying popup in my Ford! Kept getting an alert everytime I turned my truck on saying device not supported since it was looking for data transfer but Magsafe doesn't seem to be able to do that. This little device stopped that and now my phone charges perfectly but without needed to acknowledge the alert every time I start my truck. Wish these came in different colors but oh well. Ford F350.
