I am 50 something with a home gym which I use 4-5 days per week. I’m not in to heavy weights maximum 80kg on a bar, just trying to stay healthy. Despite only domestic use, I have been through three sets of barbell clamps from one of the big players, Again Faster. Each time a clamp fails after only a number of months. I decided to look at some reviews for metal clamps however they were all in the region of £50. On a whim (January ‘24) I thought I’d try these from Braingain as the price was attractive. They arrived within 24hrs of ordering. On opening and inspection they felt good quality in the hand however the clamp mechanism didn’t fill me with confidence. A few days later I fitted them to my barbell and discovered the clamp mechanism was in fact first class and a snug fit. 3 months of use and I’m still impressed. They live in my unheated, uninsulated detached garage and, despite the Scottish climate, they still look as good as new. Very impressed. Good quality and good value. Highly recommended.

Holds any weight, I’ve tested them on my barbell with 60kg each side. Doesn’t move at all.What is more important is that is thin so it does fit a short sleeve dumbbell bar like the one in the picture. That’s 20kg upside down.

Right out of the box, I was impressed. These clamps look great and have a nice, solid weight to them, giving off a premium feel. Initially, I was a bit skeptical about how well the clamp would hold – they seemed a bit too sleek to be effective. However, they proved me wrong! The fit is perfectly secure, and they lock the weights in place without any issues.One minor concern is the coating. It looks like it might wear off over time if not carefully maintained, but that's something only time will tell. Overall, I'm really happy with this product. These barbell collars are a great addition to my workout gear, and it's such a relief to have my own set whenever I need them. I'll update again after a few months of use.

Excellent collars, well designed and lovely form factor with a satisfying lock in snap. Proved far better than commercial spring collars for olympic weightlifting and significantly more convenient to put on. Excellent product at an excellent price.

These collars are different to others I have used - I have only used plastic ones in the past.The feel of metal collars clamping onto the bar is a little different, but they work well.I did find I needed to be conscious of pushing the collar against the weight more than I am used to when using plastic collars - not sure why that would be the case, but I did notice it.They clamp/lock very well and have a reassuring closing 'thunk' when the arm is pressed down.They feel great and look good too.They seem priced similarly to other aluminium collars, but are more expensive than many plastic collars.

These clips are excellent quality, with a smoth quick click they are locked. They make changing weights a breeze with their ease of use and graspability. I have no doubts that these clips will last a long time, they are full metal with some rubber inners. 10/10

I've started to invest in some equipment to build on a little home gym. I though at the very least i'll have no excuses to get some exercise in and get fit after work!These collars work perfectly with the olympic barbell I just invested in. Just push the collars towards the weigh and clasp them on. Simple.Once the collars are secure, you'll have no worries with the weights slipping off when you're benching or squatting.Don't be a silly billy. For your own safety, It's always a smart idea to invest in some decent clamps! All you need now is a good barbell and some decent olympic weights, then you're sorted!

These barbell clamps are perfect for those with home gyms or are fed up with trying to locate a set when trying to use gear at the gym.There are an all metal construction and feel good when on the bars, I have one reservation and is that the release lever is just a little bit close to the fulcrum when closed and one slight knock and it could spring open, I would have prefered a bit more pressure to hold in place, it could also be that my bars are perhaps slightly smaller maybe.A pretty good price too for this quality, £19.99, if you are at the gym and somebody has walked off with a set or two ^^
