I can't swallow big pill but these go down nicely. As I age, I like the idea of taking a quality supplement for eye health.

It's too early to tell whether this will work for me, but it has the potential to. It includes the ARED2 ingredients that have been shown to help people with a certain kind of vision risk factor. And even if you don't have macular degeneration, it includes 10 mg of lutein and 2 mg/day zeaxanthin per dose, which is supposed to be good for a person's eye health.The pills are small and easy to swallow and there's no smell or taste.

This AREDS2 supplement is pricey and the lutein is 5mg per softgel, which means you have to take it twice a day. Most comparative brands give you the 10mg or even 20mg of lutein in a single capsule, so I wish that is what this brand would have done. Also, the price point is really nowhere near competitive.

Outer surface is very slick which makes these easy to swallow. A good amount in the bottle, 90 days worth if you take 2 like it says, double that if you just take one.

I usually buy Preservision brand of Areds 2. They usually run about $22 per bottle. This is not a name brand and the amount of vitamins in these is less than the Preservision brand (which I trust more). If the price were substantially less, I might recommend these but at this price I’d have to give it 2 stars.

My mother-in-law takes AREDS2 supplements and swears by them, your eyesight is worth the high price tag, so I picked these up as a cheaper alternative but with the same ingredients and benefits. They're small, coated and easy to swallow, no taste or odor and since this is a 90-day supply, that makes them priced substantially cheaper than the name brand stuff. Obviously I can't claim any noticeable benefits after taking these for only a short time, but I'm comfortable with the peace of mind that I'm helping take care of my eyes the same way I take vitamins and mineral supplements for the rest of my body. I don't have the best diet so I'm happy to make the investment to ensure I'm getting what I need to stay in good health as I age.
