I keep a variety of these type dongle inside of projects for rerouting cables in a more preferred direction for easy cabling. I also use these style of mini-HDMI connectors on my smaller 4K displays. They work perfectly when using a side-panel jack and route it to the back for a more professional look, instead of having video cables striking out the side. When ordering, pay close attention to how the plug is oriented, such that you don't end-up coming out the front instead of the back.

Works as advertised however I was under the impression it was mini hdmi to full sized and it is not. They are made to allow a portable monitor to have the HDMI facing the other way so it doesn't accidently get bent. No issues with picture, a little on the plastic side but they work and do what they need to.

These adapters are designed for use as "wrap-around adapters for, for example, portable monitors with edge-mounted mini-HDMI ports. IF they fit your application, they'll do the job just fine.However, "buyer beware." There are several issues you need to be aware of before assuming that you can use these.Note, first off, the orientation of the male plug here. For the monitor I originally intended to use these with, the mini-HDMI port on the left side is oriented the other way... meaning that this adapter would have to go in front of my screen, rather than behind! (I own another portable monitor with the plug in the other orientation, so this works just fine in that situations, however.)Second... unfortunately, there is no overt mention I noticed in the product description telling me the distance inside the "U" shaped region between the male plug and the black plastic housing containing the female socket. You have to look very closely at the product images to find that this distance is 4.9mm.While this works just fine with the portable monitor I'll be using them with, it just BARELY fit... it's pretty snug, frankly... and would not have fit on my other monitor (even if this would not have resulted in the HDMI cable being in front of the screen, I mean!)So.... LOOK CAREFULLY before buying, and be sure that these will work with whatever use case you plan to use them with.If they really are what you need, though... well, they're simple pass-through connectors, so there's not a lot of complexity to them (nothing innovative, so I couldn't ever give them a 5-star rating... "commodity" items can never justify above a four-star rating, no matter how competently they're assembled!).But I see no defects or issues with them, and if they're what you need, they'll certainly serve your needs perfectly adequately.I like having these, especially, with "portable monitors" (essentially laptop PC screens without the laptop computer attached!) so that I can route the cables behind the monitor rather than having them cantilevered, hanging out past the edge of the monitor. It makes them look cleaner, and also protects the connections from damage due to inadvertant "bumping" of the cables.I'm sure there are other uses, as well... and if you have a need for connectors like these, you'll be happy with the purchase, no doubt. Just be absolutely certain that they're what you need, and will work in your situation, before buying them.

I bought this expecting full HDMI 2.1, so 1440p @120hz with audio, and i can select these settings, but video cuts out intermittently, green artifacts all over display when it does work, audio sounds like crap and popping sound intermittently. When switched to 60hz @1440p the issues go away clean sound and clean display indicatibg this adapter DOES NOT SUPPORT HDMI 2.1. Very disappointed about the false advertising. So one star until the description tittle and anything else that indicates supported HDMI 2.1 is changed and removed and customer complaints rectified.

It may not fit the portable monitor. It is just 1 to 1.5mm short to fit the portable monitor. One may try to fit it in if you are able to shave the plastic shield off a little bit.

I got this for my portable monitor so I could wrap the unsightly cord around the back of it. However, I didn’t look closely enough before I bought it and it ended up wrapping the cable to the front of the monitor. It comes with two adapters but both are exactly the same. I wish they had different orientations. See photo. The bend in the adapter was wide enough to wrap around the monitor.And as the ad says this is from mini HDMI male to mini HDMI female. I’m not a fan of the Mini HDMI standard because to the eye it looks the same as HDMI and is only very slightly smaller.There is a light on the side that you can see when it is plugged in to let you know it is working. Quality seems decent. Just make sure to check your orientation and dimensions since this will only work for very specific things.

I purchase these to use with my portable monitor. Upon testing each adapter, I found that only one adapter works and the other adapter does not work.

This looked like a great solution for redirecting wires into a more organized position by the connectors are very close together. I'm afraid that I misunderstood the actual purpose and benefits of this device so I'm leaving a 4-star rating so as not to detract from the benefits that others are perceiving.
