Gods I love this kettle. The fact I can start it from my phone is possibly one of the best parts about it. Have been using pretty consistently for the last few months; the gooseneck spout works wonderfully, and the water heats up in minutes.My only qualm is that you cannot set the DIY easily from the base, but once I set a preset on the app to 170°F, I only need to pop into the app for my more delicate teas requiring 165°F or lower. Oh, and it also can be switched between Fahrenheit and Celsius on the app, but not on the base. This isn't a big deal to me, but it may be ro you.All the same, so far, this is my favorite brand for this style of kettle. No rust on the inside despite daily use, either!

Literal game changer! My husband and I use a French press to make our coffee in the morning. This kettle has saved me so much time in the morning! I fill in at night, and by the time my alarm goes off, the water is already at 212 degrees. On days I want tea instead, the kettle keeps it warm! I've had no issues with this keetle.

Update: 05/14/25So, I didn't have to update this review, but I am going to do so. I went ahead and gave it another star for the fact that the seller reached out. I wasn't expecting this nor did I know they read through amazon reviews. Especially since they are a big brand company.Anyways, yes govee reached out apologizing over my experience and offered a full refund. Again, I was not expecting this resolution much less them reaching out in general. In a way, this courtesy did improve my viewpoint of them and I am willing to give them another chance in the future. Maybe I just got bad luck with the electric kettle.Okay, now that I have bought a new one and retired this one, it's time for a review. I give it three stars. Reason for that is simple. The customer service did try to help me, but there was nothing they could do since this was already my replacement. That and I did love the extra DIY additions and the ability to change the temps of the presets.The original was ordered on 07/21/24 (it is now 04/04/25) a replacement had to be ordered on 07/27/24Reason for the replacement? It kept tripping the circuit breaker in the house. The replacement did solve that at first, but I ran into another issue. The brewing would not stay consistent. (I tested it with an external water thermometer) If you did not have this at max fill and you kept the "keep warm" option on, it would heat hotter after reheating and then you had to wait for it to cool down to the correct tempature.I primarily used this for brewing tea leaves, so just like coffee brewers, precise tempatures is important. Some tea leaves you can get away with hotter temps, but more delicate tea leaves you cannot. So, due to life circumstances, i put up with this kettle.It took me moving to realize why my previous light bills were sky high. The kettle was drawing far more power than it should have, so once again, either a faulty wiring or defect of the device. How I found out? The lights are brighter in this new place compared to the previous one and that's when I noticed the lights would flicker each time the kettle would heat up. I could tell that was happening with the previous residence unfortunately. That's when I decided to purchase a Cosori and I haven't had it long, but I love it far better than this one and there is a good reason why so many people purchase and review it.It doesn't have the same additions as this one, but it works far better, it heats up a lot quicker and the pouring capabilities is superior to this one. Even better? It doesn't cause an electricity issue.In case anyone is wondering, I always keep my important electronics like my tea kettle connected to a surge protector to insure if issues like this were to happen, I wouldn't have to deal with a possible fire hazars.

Great product! Quick on heat up and the app features are niceeee! Get notifications when it's done and just all around tops! Would definitely recommend.

I got really tired of waiting for my stovetop kettle to boil, so I bought a kettle from a different brand. It worked, but it left a terrible hot plastic taste in my water. So, I knew I wanted a kettle with no plastic parts anywhere near the water. Enter this kettle from Govee.I've been really happy with their other products that I own, so I figured let's give it a go. Can say I'm super happy with this kettle. It holds enough to easily make a 20oz cup of tea (it holds at its max .8 L, which is close to 30 oz of water). The controls are easy to use and understand, the LED display is great for seeing what temperature your water is at, the app integration is great I can start water from anywhere in the house as long as I have my apple watch, iphone, or ipad with me. (App is supported by android and has Hey Google integration as well I just enjoy giving all my money to Apple.)So it doesn't make my water taste nasty, I can start it from anywhere in the house and program it to start automatically as well; it sounds amazing. What are the downsides? There always have to be downsides. The biggest downside I've seen so far is that I have to fill it after every single use. I take 20 oz of iced tea to work with me every day, so I make my tea the night before, and it nearly drains the whole kettle. Fine, it's a little annoying when I've got "better" things to be doing, but not a major issue. Also, I couldn't make instant noodles for me and my parents when we wanted a quick, easy lunch because I couldn't heat enough water. So I had to use our traditional stove top kettle. It's not terribly inconvenient, but you definitely have to keep that in mind when needing a lot of hot water.The gooseneck was a major learning curve. It pours very slowly, consistently—not a choppy-wiggly stream, but slow. And if you tip it to pour faster, it doesn't cut off quickly. So be ready the first couple of times you use it. If you've never used a gooseneck kettle or teapot before, you might have to mop up some hot water. Again, it is not a major issue, just a major learning curve.It's worth the investment. It's almost always on sale, so the "sale" price is a nice value. I'm very satisfied and don't see myself changing kettles anytime soon.
