This stuff really, really works! I recently put a rose gold demi permanent color on my hair. I tried a new brand that is highly rated over my usual Basic Instincts. I was very unhappy when most of the color, especially on top was gone after 2 weeks. The soonest you can re apply color is at 6 weeks, but I usually wait at least 3 months. I was thinking my hair was going to look awful for 2.5 months. I got this radiant red shampoo & conditioner by John Frieda. After the very first wash my hair had evenly distributed color all over. After the second wash, my color was as dark, if not darker than it was after the first day I colored it! I think most of the color lays down in the conditioner, but both the shampoo & conditioner are red coming out of the bottle. I will definitely use this anytime my color is fading. I was already a fan of JF blonde products. My natural color is blonde. I honestly wonder if coloring is even necessary with this product. I am going to try it alone next time I want to go from blonde to red. Highly recommend.

Love it for my colored red hair. Moisturizing and helps to keep the red color longer. Follow the instructions - leave the shampoo for a minute or two and the same for conditioner. Definitely works to keep my red for fading and washing off too fast

I think my hair is getting it's color back.

I prefer products with natural ingredients, but I needed a shampoo and conditioner set that would deposit enough red to keep my dyed hair bright and shiny without weighing it down. I have long, straight, fine hair, so a lot of products will make it look greasy or flat. This product did neither. Instead, it helps my hair stay redder longer, and it makes it shiny and sleek. I also use a detangler afterwards, so that helps. The scent isn't overpowering or unpleasant, and I can't smell it in my hair after showering. My hairdye itself does not contain natural ingredients, so I can't really gripe about that. Plus, it's affordable and makes hair feel very silky. I return a lot of products that don't live up to their reviews, but both this shampoo and conditioner are pretty straightforward. I'm sure there are other products out there that deposit more red or have healthier ingredients, but they're likely FAR more expensive. Also, I think the key with using these is that a little goes a long way. I really don't need more than a dime size dollop per use of either the shampoo or the conditioner. People with curly or thicker hair will likely need more.

Perfect for all shades of red hair!

I have somewhat mixed feelings about this product. I haven't noticed a huge difference in retaining my color but it doesn't hurt either. My main complaint about the product is I've had very long, thick hair and a little does NOT go a long way with the conditioner especially. It's not as smoothing as even drug store conditioners, and a lot of the product is needed to get my hair to feel kind of soft. I'm also not a huge fan of the scent. It doesn't exactly smell like chemicals but it doesn't quite smell flowery either - just kind of artificial. The scent doesn't stick around strongly once hair is dry, though.Overall, this product is ok. I'd give it another half star if I could but I'm still on the lookout for something better.

This works as described. It leaves my naturally red hair, looking brighter and more alive. As I age, I have resisted coloring my hair, but this helps with the parts around the edges that are fading.One caution, the colorant in the shampoo will discolor white towels or shower curtains asked me how I know :)
