SAILING EASY BREEZY
Works great. I would change out the hooks for carabiners. Easy to paddle going into the wind with the sail up. Highly recommend.

Pay the X~tra ;
Not perfect not bad either …but of learning curve to master ( I’m still less than that lol )But much better than generics for 20 bucks!Sea state needs to be lite to mod wind little chop mod swells ok ( but I don’t venture out offshore in inflatables …sea yaks only lol)Gonna try tho on a carbon mountain bike on a big dry lake bed in Mojave soon!

Well-made but did not catch much wind
I was intrigued by the idea of using a 'sail' with my kayak and bought this product to try it out. My impression is that the materials and manufacturing are good. The quality is good. I set it up on my Perception Rhythm 11' using the stock bungee cords that came mounted on the kayak. It was easy to clip and set up. A little harder to fold back down to get it out of the way. But the disappointment was that it did not seem to be enough sail to catch enough wind to move me much. I tried it multiple days in light to medium winds. I could tell that I was moving, but even with the strongest gusts it seem to barely move the kayak. I'm 200 pounds, so that's probably a factor, but I had hoped to be moved along at enough speed to make it worth putting the sail up. I didn't expect high speeds, but I expected to be able to notice I was moving.

Love it.
Love this thing, use it at the beach all the time. Makes drifting back across the bay an absolute joy. Easy to store in boat and deploy.

only works on open water in stiff wind
If you notice the demo video is on a lake in a really strong wind. This is because it only has a few square feet of sail area. I have tried to use it several times on rivers, and even on some open water in a moderate breeze. It is basically useless 95% of the time. Unfortunately my 30 day return window expired before I tried it. Don't make the same mistake.I improvised a sail using the two paddles of my tandem kayak and a poncho, and it worked much better. More sail area and higher up into the wind. You just jam each paddle blade on each side of your seat and hold them in a Y configuration with the other blade of each paddle in a sleeve of the poncho. Works great and more steerable too.

Easy to fold or deploy, works downwind, with a wind
first sail for kayak that works, Downwind only, and only with good breeze. It also folds up pretty easy if you can fold/ stow a car window sunshade, you can do this. Just start your journey upwind, when ready to go back turn around and deploy sail. use paddels to assist.

I returned it
Two main issues caused me to return it. (1) The clips that attach the sail to the kayak hull are so small that i could not get them off after they were clipped on. I had to use needle nose pliers to squeeze the arm on the clip to disconnect it. It's a shame that the company probably saved two cents by not making the plastic clips a half inch longer and lost a sale as a result.(2) The other problem with this sail is that it is HUGE when folded. It literally folds to a circle two feet in diameter. Where do we have two feet of extra space on a KAYAK?

Easy to operate
Excellent product. Very useful on Rivers and lakes. Easy to operate if you can sail. Easy to learn how to use. I did add other couplings to kayak to make it single handed operation
