Insightful movie, well written, directed and acted... And learning there are still over 100,000 paints stolen by the Nazies still to be returned to their rightful owners 70+ years on is staggering, never mind the stolen jewellery and other precious items. An eye-opener, worthy of a watch.

Good acting and interesting story line

I Found This Such A Delightful Film To Watch.The Cast Were Great And The Entertainment Value Was Immense.

This is a wonderful film but a hard story. All star actors with glorious dialogue ande narrative pacing that swells to a crescendo. The scene is set slowly and gradually, but the reality of the Nazi impact on so many people becomes gradually more apparent, then frightening then desparate.This is a story that needed to be told, that deserves to be remembered and is well served by this film. But gripping as it is, a second watch is harder to justify: You have discovered and explored the essential elements and it is punishing to witness again the misery and injustice.Spoiler: Credit to the film makers and not to forget, to Austria for doing the right thing in the end.Recommended

The flashbacks are beautifully executed. The present day story is very well told and Helen Mirren’s humour gives some well needed levity to this tragic tale.
