Yes, I would say these are windproof as I have been wearing these pants in cold winter conditions regularly. I do recommend a thin baselayer underneath for moisture wicking and ultimate comfort. It can be a lightweight polyester baselayer - super thin. Just thought I would share that as an added tip.

Q: what's the inseam of the tall?

I ordered 12 tall, and usually talls of any pant fit short or just right. These are rare in that they are actually longer than any other long pant I've bought. I find this advantageous.

Q: I'm looking for waterproof pants to wear when riding my horse. Do you think the fabric will hold up?

I love these for riding!! They don’t make noise when walking around, have a nice stretch and are very warm without bulk. My favorite winter barn pants
