1 week in, I am impressed
I have a 5 Camera Alro Pro setup, which I was majorly tired of batteries and the lag time. I purchased the Yi Camera to try out, considering the price and it was Prime Day. I watched many youtube videos on the comparison to the Nest Cameras. I did not want to pay a subscription fee as I am very against them so tried the Yi with an SD card. The card wipes the oldest data automatically so save what you want and keep about your day. No need for a subscription.Things I like...1. Zero lag in video, not only are the notifications much quicker than Arlo, I get the video data from when the motion started, not 3-4 seconds in.2. The night-vision is absolutely impressive. It caught my neighbor doing a nightly dog walk multiple houses up the street in pitch black conditions... And the resolution is quite impressive. I can read someones vehicle tag 2 houses up. Not so much on the Arlo.3. App is great, very simple. Setup was 5 minutes if that per camera... Also the wifi signal seems to be better than Arlo. I think these actually have a longer reach which is great.4. The power cable is the thin durable style wire that I was able to run under my window to get power to it.5. The camera itself feels well built, good weight to it and well constructed.

Glitchy at best - See my update -Love it Now after tweaks !!!!!
Camera was fairly easy to set up and the video is nice and clear - BUT - there doesn't seem to be much documentation on the camera and navigating the phone app and computer app is a bit confusing, even though there are not many controls. We were just out to the vet's office with our pooch and while we were gone, we got a UPS delivery. Didn't even pick up the driver bringing the package to the front porch. Should have been clear as day that this was taking place, but it picked up our neighbor leaving their house and coming down the street in the van. What's with that !!!!!! It seems like hit or miss with capturing motion. Inserted an SD card in the outdoor camera, which we just purchased and it doesn't seem to be storing any videos. And the SD card I picked up from Amazon for the indoor camera doesn't even work after being inserted. It just seems difficult to figure out the workings of this camera. Although the price is enticing even that doesn't convince that this purchase was worth it. I was really excited about this system until this writing. I was going to purchase a couple more cameras for both inside and outdoors, but now, I don't think so.Update on Camera 11/15/17 Ok ready to eat my words. After some deep fiddling with this camera and it's associated apps for both my phone and thru the computer, this thing is working like a charm. The SD cards are now working in both the indoor model and the outdoor model. At first I could not get the SD card to work in the indoor version, just removed it and re-inserted it and it seems to be working fine. This camera picks up everything, it even picked up a golf cart driving down the 10th fairway across the street from our house - amazing. The outdoor camera was picking up the flag waving in the breeze on our flag pole in front yard. But a modification on the capture area solved that issue. Figured out how to navigate to and work the timeline when replaying videos. Gonna go out and buy another outdoor camera and set it up at the other corner of the house. Love it now.

Don't bother, you won't get any alerts.
I have 2 indoor 1080p's and one outdoor camera that I just installed. So far everything is working great. Picture quality is good when streaming but get an SD card. The downloaded videos are really good and clear. Audio is pretty good. The outdoor camera seems to pickup plenty of wind and far off noises. I had some trouble with the outdoor camera because the SD card came loose after installation to the wall, then it got stuck in a boot loop until I unplugged the camera, inserted the card, and then powered it back up. Wasn't terrible to fix but the power was in the attic and a little tough to get to.Phone app works smoothly and gives very quick alerts. The outdoor camera has an option for an audible alarm from the camera when it detects motion and it is really loud. I've turned that off for now. The indoor cameras are quick to alert as well. The PC app is really good too but you don't have as many settings that you can change on the cameras as you do with the app. No worries though, I mostly use it just to check on things while I'm at work. With the motion sensing you can designate an area to watch for motion, but only one area and it is only in a rectangular or square shape that you can change. Hopefully they will add an option for a second motion zone so you can watch more areas, or exclude areas in the middle of the screen. The reason for 3 stars is that the IR doesn't work. I have it activated but the screen is completely dark at night. You can see that the IR lights are on due to the faint glow but nothing shows on the camera so I'm forced to keep lights on in the area. The indoor cameras I have work great in pitch black conditions but the outdoor doesn't. I may invest in a separate IR light but hate that I spent $80 on one that should already work.****Update 9.10.18I've had these cameras for a little over a month. I ordered an additional one for over the garage and the IR works correctly on it. The one over my door must be a bum unit. The App recently updated as well but it seems to have introduced some issues. The outdoor cameras will sometimes stop alerting and recording motion. Also you can't get into the settings screen from the app. You have to power down the camera, wait about 20 seconds and power back up. The one over the door I had to do this a few times because it got stuck in a boot loop. Its a bit of a pain to powercycle these since they are plugged in the attic. I'm slowly regretting the outdoor models. The indoor ones still work great though.Update 2.20.19Don't waste your money. The hardware is fine, but the software is absolute garbage. It will stop sending notifications. They'll put out an update that might work for a few weeks but then it will stop again. For a while I could at least get notifications if I opened the app but now that has even stopped. It isn't my setup, and all notifications are allowed on my phone. They are garbage. I would return them if I could but I guess I've lost money on some useless cameras. I'll be looking at a competitor.
