I've had a Black & Decker drill for a couple of years and been very pleased with it but it always took more effort to drive in screws than I liked so I was advised to try an impact driver.My drill had 2 batteries so I thought it made sense to get the corresponding Black & Decker model.When it arrived it was a little smaller and lighter than expected and really comfortable to hold. Not having a carry case was a shame though.Inserting and changing bits is a really simple and fast job and the difference between using this and my drill was obvious straight away.Firstly using good quality screws is important, I use Reisser, as this has the power to damage the heads of cheap screws before you realise what's happening.The trigger could be more progressive as it spins up quite fast for very little pressure on the trigger.When working with hardwood, with pre drilled pilot holes, this drives the screws in so quickly and with so little effort. In fact I have to be careful I dont drive them too far into the wood.It's also got more that enough power for drilling in large coach screws into wooden sleepers, which I used to make raised beds in the garden recently.The little LED is very useful when working in poor light.The battery ive been using is only a 1.5Ah but this has driven in over 100 40mm screws with plenty of charge left so it should be able to do a lot more. I would say this is plenty for an amateur DIY'er like myself.I think the value for money is excellent and I'm kicking myself for not buying it sooner!I hope you find my review helpful.

Good value for money. Performance is very good (only used around the house and garden). Does all I need it for. Highly recommended

Cheap but very good impact driver with interchangeable battery amongst other Black and decker power tools.

I got this after my one stoped working and I have t had any problem works fantastic not to heavy either it’s been dropped a few times and no issues it’s strong and reliable

Works as youd expect. For better quality go DeWalt or something - but good for diy.

Great value for money, sturdy, lightweight and good qualityI already had the drill for this set with the 2 batteries. I was so impressed i bought my sister 1 for her house for doing the odd job as she likes DIY. My friend bought a drill and he said it was cras and asked if i could recommend anything. I got him the black and decker 18v drill and impact driver set for £80. We used it for his gazebo. I was so impressed i had to get myself one. The fact i already had a drill with 2 batteries this was a no brainer. Its an amazing tool. DIY is a hobby of mine and I'm gutted I've ever invested in one before and I'm now 60. I'm as impressed with this driver as I was to my multitool that I have just been introduced too. Another amazing tool for any Bob the builder.

Came in a protective paper bag, with being an electrical item I was expecting a little bit more care, no branded packaging no battery. So came as sold. Great price

This works like a treat for outside work. Putting up sheds, fences etc. this wis a game changer. I already have other B&D items so can swap the batteries around and have a spare. It is key to get the right head for the screw… else this will strip the head in no time.Good quality screws and you’re away. Really changed my ability to do those more assertive outdoor tasks with ease. Game changer for me.
