Works great after replacement
I have 2 of these so i can just swap them out and there is no downtime while I’m steeping. Steeping takes about 24 hours. Well worth the money I have saved already. Cold brew for me is now $2.50 for the entire week instead of $20-30.I’ve had 3 sent to me and out of those 3, one leaked. However, they quickly replaced it with a new device, no questions asked.2.5 cups of coarse ground works great. I haven’t had a batch that tastes bad. Whether it’s “good” or “great,” depends on the brand of coffee you prefer. Usually, it exceeds my expectations with respect to taste.

Unacceptable Quality
Ordered this product as a birthday gift for my girlfriend. The first one arrived damaged. The hole were the spigot goes was chipped. Alright, no big deal, mistakes happen. A replacement was immediately sent out and arrived the next day.The replacement was cosmetically ok, but the spigot leaks, in the off position. No way to fix that. This is the first time I’ve purchased anything from anywhere and have gotten two defective products in a row. Not risking a third time here.

Works great, broken
This works great. The first one had a spout that wouldn't stop leaking and the second one had cracked glass, but we put together all the working pieces of both and returned all the broken parts and it works great

Great all around
Well made, metal spout and lid. Easy to clean metal mesh filter just rinses out(after you empty grounds) After washing good and assembling the spout fill the filter with grounds leave a inch space at the top. Fill jar filtering through the grounds ( takes about 5-10minutes. I stir it some in between)let sit 16-18 hrs in fridge take filter out and fill to the top with some more water. That’s it . You have great cold brew for a third of the price and WAY better too. Loosen the lid a little when pouring then tighten bk up. Suggest using a organic coarse ground. When your half way through pour the rest into a empty gallon jug with top and repeat the process to have a consistent supply. Cheers

Mine leaked like a sieve from the spout
Pros- makes great cold brew! The stainless steel mesh is great, very fine and seems to be quite sturdy.Cons- most everything else, the lid is loose floppy buthole, does not go on tight. which honestly would not be a big deal if it didnt continually drip and leak from the valve spout. That part sucks- tried to tighten it up to no avail. The jar was cracked a bit around the hole for the spout as well but the leak is in the actual spout not just around the outside.

Listen to the ratios on google
I love cold brew and realized it was time to stray off the chain-store’s bought and make my own! When looking for a cold brew maker, I wanted something that made a LOT as me and my partner drink a lot of coffee throughout the week. The gallon is perfect and lasts us throughout the week, before I have to make more. One thing I would advise is to be wary reading the instructions of how much coffee to use. I used a costco medium blend and went with what was recommended on the instructions, and I found it too light and more the strength of iced coffee. If you like your coffee like me, I would recommend going on google to look up the perfect ratio.Overall, this cold brew maker is amazing and, I am recommending it to all my friends and family!

Jar leaks from bottom.
The Jar came with a bit of a crack around the spout, although it does not leak from the spout area. Unfortunately, upon its first use, I learned that there's a breach on the bottom of the jar. Had to clean up a bit of a mess.

Handle with care and you'll be fine
This has made my cold brew habit affordable without too much hassle. As other reviews have stated, the filter looks rugged but is surprisingly flimsy and will bend/deform easily if you squeeze too hard or bang on it when cleaning out coffee grounds. Be gentle with it and it will be fine. Lightly tap it in the trash can to get 95% of the grounds out and the other 5% will rinse out in the sink. The other surprisingly flimsy bit is the lid. It will not completely seal when the filter is in place no matter what you do. Again, be gentle with it and it will be fine. At some point I may look for a replacement lid that seals better but for now it's not a problem. Here is my ultra low-fuss cold brew method/recipe using this jar:-Put 8oz coarse ground coffee in the metal filter (right now I'm using Jose's Vanilla Nut coffee)-Pour over 1 gallon filtered water (pour slowly and don't overfill)-Let brew at room temperature for 8-12 hours and then refrigerateYou can brew this entirely in the fridge, it just comes out a little weaker. My routine is to make it in the morning and let it brew on the counter all day, then put the jar in the fridge sometime before bed. Note: in the spirit of ultra low-fuss, I leave the filter & grounds in the jar the whole time. I fill a 32oz cup about 3/4 full and a batch lasts me 4 days.Happy Cold Brewing!
