Bit of a battery drain!
While they work, these are great. However, they take 4 AAA batteries and seem to drain through these like nobody's business. Once they've drained the batteries to a certain point, the light has a tendency to stay on but in a dimmed state, which drains the batteries even more.I bought 6 of these for various points around the house (we have little kids who can't reach light switches, and long dark hallways).Good points:They are very bright, and light up a good area. They can be mounted pretty much anywhere - we leave some on the floor by the skirting board, and have mounted others above doors. They detect motion pretty wellThey come on for about 15 seconds and then switch off, which is idealThey are portableIn principle - they are excellent, and just what we wanted.Bad Points:The battery connection can be pretty flaky - it can take a bit of fiddling to get the light to work (and stay working) once you fit the batteries. They need quite a lot of batteries, with no recharge option (unless you use separate rechargeable batteries)They drain the batteries pretty quicklyUPDATE:Company read my initial review on Amazon and responded (unprompted) with a full refund for both my orders. So, 4 stars for the product, but 5 stars for excellent and responsive customer service! They were of the opinion that the bad points listed above are not reflective of the product generally, but they think that I was sent a bad batch - given that some of the lights seem to work consistently well, whilst others have the problem above, this may well be the case. Anyway, I applaud them for their keenness to put things right, and will probably order more in the future confident that the seller is responsive.

Excellent quality and performance for a great price
These lights are fantastic. The build quality is very good and the materials are really high quality. The units feel solid and a magnetic mounting system is so very convenient but also saves me having to put holes into cupboards for screws. I've installed them into a 3 door Sharpe's fitted wardrobe; each door being 1 meter wide and 2.4 meters tall. They are installed at the 2m point, at the front and under a solid shelf. They perform as expected by coming on when the door is opened. I was initially worried about not having an on/off button but the light stays on for the duration of your search, whether that is 10 seconds or 3 minutes and so I don't believe an additional override switch is required; prevents forgetting to switch off and draining batteries. What I'm amazed with is the amount of light that is given by these units. With the bedroom in total darkness, I can even see the contents of any one of the three drawers. Having only used for them for 1 day, I will be very interested to see how long they last between battery changes; I'm using Duracell and so paid quite a bit on top of the initial purchase price. I'm so impressed that I'm going t buy another set, after I've seen how long the batteries last.Amir UK - well done and thank you for providing a quality product at a very reasonable price.

Nice and bright, but the batteries don't last long

Very impressed
The lights arrived next day as promised. At first I was a bit concerned that the motion sensors weren't working but then realised it was because they won't activate when the room is too bright (D'oh!! I worked this out by going into a dark cupboard with one of the lights...indeed all of them eventually). This is a great feature as I really don't want them activating every time I walk past and draining the batteries. Absolute breeze to install with the sticky magnetic strips. I'd make sure you thoroughly clean the surface you're going to stick them to as I know from previous experience that the 3M sticky tape doesn't like grimy surfaces which might be why some other buyers have said they keep falling off. The sensors all pick up any motion although on the very odd occasion they can be a little bit slow. Too early to say about the battery usage but if it turns out to be okay I'll definitely be getting more of these for hallway, bathroom etc.

Suitable for attics and basements, but not hallways
I got these originally for hallways when I needed to go prepare baby formula for my toddler. Unfortunately, these lights are a little too good for that. During the use, I found the following:1. Motion detection is extremely fine. Any small movement is captured, and the lights come on. On the other hand, light detection is miserable: regular lighting in the hallway (yellow bulbs in light shades) is not enough to prevent the lights from turning on. As a result, unless there is direct sunlight into the hallway, the lights will turn on all the time.2. Lights may be too bright. With new batteries, looking directly at the lights leaves afterimages. Despite having a large hallway spanning over two floors, I found the lighting to be excessive. This prevented me from using them in enclosed spaces like drawers and cabinets, and it's also draining the batteries too quickly.3. Depending on the batteries, I estimate they last between 250 and 400 cycles. This is perfect for drawers that may be opened once per day or less, but in a hallway where the lights are triggered multiple times per day the batteries get drained quickly.4. When the batteries get low, instead of dimming the lights, they start flashing. This is extremely annoying, and it also triggers other lights within the same light radius.5. The hatch that needs to be opened to side in new batteries is extremely fragile, often falls out completely and is frustrating to reattach.I've stopped using the lights, just because of the inconvenience of picking them up every morning and placing them back in the evening, in order to save the batteries. They are still suitable for areas that are seldom accessed, such as attics and basements, but I wouldn't use them in high-traffic areas or small, enclosed spaces.
