This device hits the sweet spot.Full summary, tips and setup guide below.Pros:- Fast, Portable, easy to use- Lifetime free updates- Excellent aftersales support- Accurate and powerful- phenomenally low price even at full msrpCons.- None as of yet or foreseen, will update as usage continuesSummary:Forget the cheaper ballpark £30-80 OBD devices and just get this.Having access to dealer level obd equipment and snap on/autel devices that are £500-£2k the Anyscan A30-M is unbeatable value for money even at twice its price.It has a huge range of compatibility, has enough special functions to keep a seasoned mechanic happy and is simple to learn and operate for a new user.A cheaper device will only read basic codes, the expensive ones will cost you more per year in updates than the purchase price of this.Upon first use we used the device to wipe 8 error codes from one vehicle after a new engine fit, reset an airbag light, diagnose a faulty window regulator, faulty abs sensor and provide live data to analyse an issue on another purchase.It has carried out any function we have required from it.Live data can be recorded and saved to file format for review by another party if required.Tips:- Install the app on an old android tablet with shock case for a dedicated professional look device.- Allow 10GB minimum for app and all updates- If it cannot find vehicle VIN find your year and engine number and it will connect- If these devices are new to you, spend a few hours playing around with it and hitting play/pause on an instructional to learn how to really get the most out of it.-Ensure it is the A30M you purchase as the A30 and A30D are not as powerful.Setup:1) Get chosen device, download/install anyscan app by Xtool on playstore.2)Open app and register your A30M via serial number on device rear.3) Hit the update icon in the app and download packages from your chosen manufacturers.4) With engine and ignition off insert A30M into your vehicles OBD port, a red light will show.5) Ensure Bluetooth is turned on your phone/tablet, start the ignition and pair with the A30M. A blue light will now also show.6) Tap on the app to Autoscan/diagnose the vehicle and begin. A green communication light will now also show on device.If VIN reading fails, use the year and engine model method above to connect.I hope this was helpful.If this doesn't save you money from unnecessary garage work you must drive a 2CV!

Cheap all round scanner, works great would be 5 stars but takes ages to connect even on a bang up to date iPhone

EDIT: The android version app has been updated and now works on latest android software, review changed to 5 stars.Bought this product and a dedicated Samsung galaxy A7 lite to use specifically for diagnostics but the app won’t work on the latest android software (app freezes on the units loading screen) but will work on my sons galaxy A7 lite tablet that hasn’t received a software update since June of 2022, Iv emailed xtool about the issue but am still waiting on a reply almost a week later,So it is unknown when the app will be updated to run on the latest android device software!Luckily I can still use the A30M via my phone (iPhone 8) and sons tablet as mentioned above or the purchase would of been a complete dead end as the dongle is obviously useless without the accompanying APP to operate itThe A30M itself is a sturdy piece of kit made from metal so feels ruggedNo failures to connect to vehicles or run active testing or diagnostic checksGood piece of kit especially for the money compared to more expensive bi-directional diagnostic tools again the only downside is it’s only as good as the Xtool Anyscan app

I have been using this one over 12 months help I’m getting from this device so many things can be done. Absolutely fantastic. Everything worked well straight out of the box and exactly as described.Setup was incredibly easy and the included instructions were simple and easy to understand.I couldn't recommend this scanner highly enough.I have tried a few in the past and this one is by far the best value for money of them all.

It works. BUT! It does not do injector coding, as it says in the promotion of the product. That's just one of the downsides of this scanner. I tried to contact the seller, but he does not cooperate to resolve the complaints. I bought the product after reading a review that said it was better than Delphi. Now I know. It is not better than Delphi. I give 3 stars because it works on android and is easy to use.
