Tetra Whisper IQ Power Filter 45 Gallons, 215 GPH, With Stay Clean Technology

I couldn't be happier with this filter. I upsized my filter from the 30 gallon filter that came with my tank, to this 45 gallon filter because I have so many huge plants and so many fish my old filter couldn't keep up. It has roughly the same footprint so it fit in the tight space my old one did, but it's a lot more powerful. I love how this one is so quiet you can barely hear the motor at all. And it's self-priming. It works right when you plug it in.

So far so good... Easy setup I have an older version that still works I've always known and cared for they seem to last for years. I wanted to upgrade my tank so that it would stay cleaner longer. I think this brand is excellent and my past experience has said that they have excellent longevity and a great value.

I'm so happy with this purchase! I needed to replace my old unit, and this unit is so much better. I can even hear it at all (for reference i have normal to very sensitive hearing). Our aquarium sits on the living room and I can finally watch TV and not have the extra noise o. The background.

We got this filter for our new tank and loved the other reviews of how it sounded. We thought it was peaceful and such a perfect fit! Unfortunately one morning we woke up to one of our catfish missing.. we found him in half stuck in the intake filter. We didn’t realize that we were missing the guard to prevent the fish from getting sucked up (this was our first fish purchase as adults). I immediately called the company to see what could be done and they apologized for the loss of our fish and are sending over the guard to us immediately. They also gave some advice on what to do for now while we wait for the guard to come in. You can tell by the pictures the big difference. At first we just thought we didn’t get the model that came with the filter, but after thoroughly reading the instructions/the box, we realized we were wrong and it was missing. So please just be careful and double check !! Wouldn’t want anybody else’s fish going the way our catfish did. RIP Captain Jack 🙏🏼

Ive had this filter for a few months now and ive got to say that its still in working order and everything is going well. I love that you can adjust the intakes depth and the amount its able to take in. If i ever set up another tank ill come back to this seller.

I like how this function. Design is nicer, and it fits perfectly in my 29 Gallon tank. Also you can adjust the filter speed. And the built quality is awesome.

Pretty good filter for the price! Don’t really have any complaints but I will warn water will start to seep out the lid when the filter cartridge fills up. As long as you do a good job at replacing them regularly you should be fine!

Would have been 5 but the motor got slightly disconnected and there is a small space between it and the body of the filter. The leaflet mentions the disconnection but was no help as to how to remedy. I wasn't sure whether to push up, or twist to get it to close. Shining a light in the gap showed two projections at the back inside and the motor had two projections which were above the top projections for the filter body but there is about a 1/4 in gap between the two, so pushing up doesn't do a thing, twisting slightly didn't either.I finally used duct tape to hold the two together since the space was in the front, right under the outflow and I didn't want water getting in.It started just fine and the outflow is very vigorous, I had to turn it down a bit. It's a lot more powerful than my aqua clear 50s which are also on the tank. I use more filters than I need on my tanks so I don't have to clean the tanks as often.I like not having to prime the filter, unlike the Aqua clear.
