Playing for Keeps: #UofJ, Book 3

Playing for Keeps is the thirds book in the U of J series and the last book for Mason and Kay... or is it?I loved this series, one of my favorite series I read this year and I’m so happy to have had read book 3 after book 2’s cliff hanger. Looking to score and Game Changer are book 1 and 2 in the series and leave off on cliffhangers so definitely read them in order!Mase or Casanova and Kay or Skittles have had some major angst, drama, and action thrown at them but I was here for it all. In Playing for Keeps we leave off where Game Changer ended, let me tell you that was nerve wracking starting Playing For Keeps not knowing how it was going to go. I’m not going to leave any spoilers but I will say there is an HEA.Kayla is this sassy, funny t-shirt wearing, and caring character. If she’s on your side she will protect and defend you to her best ability. I loved that about her, all she wanted was to ensure her loved ones or her tribe was all happy and protected no matter how it affected her.Mase is this charming football Playing god who wants to protect And love Kayla in all ways possible *wink wink*. In Playing for Keeps, their relationship grows even stronger and it’s just perfect how into each other they are.Of course there are some people that don’t like Mase or Kayla or them together but they’re obviously crazy. The other side characters in this story all deserve their own book, I’m rooting for some and others I can’t wait to see who they meet. Alley needs to write them, I’m addicted to these characters and I love this world she made.I definitely recommend reading this book but more this series if you haven’t started it yet if you love sports NA romance with OTT alphas, a sassy heroine, some steamy connections, and a close knit tribe full of family and friends

THIS IS BOOK 3 IN A SERIES AND MUST BE READ IN ORDER!Holy. Hotness. Alley Ciz really shined in this series. She left us dangling on not one, but two of the worst cliffies I’ve ever been on.This book picks up right where Game Changer threw us off the cliff."You. Are. Everything. All that other stuff is just gravy."We get all the caveman from Mason in this book and I just sat back and said “yass please”. Mason stole my heart in book one, fought hard to regain it in book two, and ran off with it securely in his pocket in book three. I swooned, clutched my heart, cried, and loved with this man. And that was just in the first chapter.Kay, my girl! She has to be one of my favorite heroines Alley has ever written. Alley writes fierce women who take no shit, and Kay was never any different. I was by Kay’s side as I watched her story unravel before me and cried with her when it felt like it was too much. Kay has a heart much like Alley’s. It’s big and wonderful and has so much room all the friends and loved ones. And once you’re in, you’re in. That bled through in this story. Kay was very real to me in this series. She faced things head-on, and didn’t let anything keep her down for very long. But in the same breath, she was very much human. She did break down and she did make mistakes, but everything she did, she did for love. Above all else, she got back up every time she fell.This story was everything we needed after being left hanging on those cliffs. It was full of heartwarming moments, angry moments, and moments that left my jaw on the floor. Because let me tell you, Mason Nova EARNED his Casanova title in this book ladies and gents. I can’t wait to see where this crew will go next.

Mase and Kay are back for their final book of the trilogy. These two have to come together to overcome the odds of the few who are trying their best to tear them apart. Once again their friends, and family gather round to help these two prove that love can conquer all no matter the obstacle.This book picks up at the exact moment that book 2 ended. We get a front row view of Mason and Kay as they navigate being put in the spotlight of the sports world. Kay finally lets Mason all the in when she tells him the piece of information she has been holding back regarding her past.This story has all of our favorite characters that we have come to know and love. I am personally hoping for each and every one of them to have a book because I have to know what happens to them all!!!!Alley does a wonderful job continuing to bring the reader int he U of J world including her wonderful #gram blips. She has created a world where all of her book characters interact, and we continue to get glimpses of how some of our favorite characters are doing from the BTU series.

*Cheer Fingers* for the emotional roller coaster that Alley Ciz put us through with this series! Playing for Keeps is the third book in the U of J series and isn't a stand-alone (this series should be read in order). This book answers most of the questions regarding the relationship of Mason and Kayla making a satisfying conclusion, though there is room for more (promised & hinted at by the sneaky diabolical author Alley Ciz). These two characters are #RomanceGoals! Men need to take notes on how to romance a woman from Mason Nova. I love the secondary characters (the friends/family squad is full of funny/dynamic/amazing personalities) and can't wait to read their stories!Much love to the author Alley Ciz, you evil genius! I can't believe you made me cheer for a cheerleader when I never thought I would but I loved everything about these books.

PLAYING FOR KEEPS is the third and final book in this trilogy and let me tell you it is pretty ace. Picking up right after that horrific cliffy from book two you are hooked from the first page and there isn’t an ‘I’m gonna hurt somebody’ cliffhanger at the end of it. You will fall in love with mase and skittles all over again and their need to protect one another is strong. Some things will be uncovered but no you won’t know who #UofJ411 is but some other things will be revealed and yes I’m being vague because I don’t want to spoilt it for all of you that won’t read until after release day but you will not be disappointed by this book.

Once again Alley Ciz has proven why she is the queen of sports romances.She brings the sass, the sexual tension and characters to die for! If you love sports books that have detailed scenes in, then Alley Ciz is the author for you.Alley left us dangling off a cliff, struggling to hold on at the end of book 2 and when book 3 started I thought great we will finally get some answers.BIG NOPEAll we got was heartache and pain for the first few chapters while Mase and Kay were trying to steer their way through their chaotic lives at the U of J all while trying to stop all of the outside influences breaking them up.Alley has a reputation for writing amazing secondary characters and she didn’t let us down with this series. I love all of these characters so much. They bring so much to the storyline and I can’t wait to see what Alley will do in the future.If you love new adult sports romances then read the U of J Series and fall in love with Mason Nova and Kayla Dennings.

What a way to end the trilogy...I was eeking this book out as I didn't want the story to end and I'm truly gutted it has.This story starts exactly where Game Changer left off and it does not disappoint.Hop on the rollercoaster and enjoy the banter from the group, the sass from Kay and the alpha protectiveness of Mason (well all the guys...but especially Mase).This couple goes through the mill and yet are still so supportive of eachother...A book I did not want to put down, made me become so involved I forgot to adult and just get lost for a little while.Roll on late 2021 for book 4 in the series albeit a different couple, Ciz is staying with this awesome friendship group

When I first opened Game Changer I was a little overwhelmed with all the characters on the page of nicknames. But, I can honestly say it was easy to keep up. I am really excited to get a more in depth look at the crew.As for Mase and Kay, they truly are gold. I really hope they have active parts in the other books too.

So much love for this series, love the characters love the story and love all the feels it gives you. Totally addicted from the first page, a definite must read!
