Intelligence: From Secrets to Policy Seventh Edition

I used this book for a class and I absolutely loved it. I loved the organization, the information, the examples, and the readability.I rented this book for my class, but I thought that I bought it so I underlined the heck out of all the useful parts (almost the whole entire book) and wrote in it to remember. I felt so guilty and heartbroken when I had to send it back as a rental, but I would have had to pay another $80 to keep it.

It is clear that the author's experience has given him an understanding that is both deep and broad. I recommend this text for someone looking for material to help them understand this critical element of the government.

Mark Lowenthal has covered the whole gambit of what US intelligence consists of. It also discusses a number of disciplines that are usually not known about or discussed openly, including friendly and adversary intelligence organizations.

Was somewhat interesting but extremely informational for my Intelligence class.

The book captures the critical foundation for the fundamental understanding of intelligence. The book defines key definitions, explains instrumental concepts and does so through the profound experience of a highly successful CIA operative. As far as readability, the book is quite simple to read. However, compelling and gripping, the book is not, as it lacks engaging and compelling authorship, of which might entice the reader.

It helped me answer all the questions and topics covered in my class.
