Works great
My tap water is alkaline and hard, and this product readily dropped the pH.

Definitely lowers the pH!
For whatever reason & without warning, our city's water pH can change. Last winter it was a tad low. Then it was almost ideal (~7) for a while. For months now, it's been so high it doesn't even register on my high pH test.It might not be that big a problem except I have several open dirted tanks with submerged plants growing out or just emersed plants with roots hanging in the water, so I have to top them off now & then. They're all freshwater. After the shock of seeing how high it had gotten in the summer, I went the whole peat moss routine, but it's very inaccurate unless you do it in a bucket for a few days first & then repeatedly test while having to add more tap water (or baking soda or calcium carbonate, which are also unwieldy IME) to bring the pH back up again if it's too low or continue soaking in peat moss. Of course, no matter how well I "meshed in" the peat moss, it made a mess. I could have gotten some crushed coral, but another slow method & I still don't understand why it's supposedly the CaCO₃ in it that lowers pH, but then I read that just adding CaCO₃ will bring it up. I mean, I've had to learn enough science in aquarium-keeping without trying to figure out the many contradictions. The point for me was simply to not *need* to chase the pH all the time. It became exhausting. So, I saw this pH down/decrease product & with a pint of it at a very reasonable price, I sent for it.I realize, after reading some other reviews, that it doesn't have a dropper. I don't know why that should be a big problem. As my photo shows, I simply put some in a dropper bottle. You could also use a pipette or hey, figure it out.For me, this has been a gift. I'm still not absolutely certain how many drops to add to a 5G bucket of water, but it seems about 10 to 12 works to get it within reason. If I add too much, I can just put more - like I kid you not - probably >9 pH tap water in to raise it. I use an Adopt-A-Stream test kit, & like I wrote, the tap pH was darker than the highest measurement. For anyone who wrote that it "killed my fish" or other type things, all I can say is that you need to add it to a bucket of water *first*! Then let it sit a while. I leave it overnight. *Then* you test it *b/4* adding it to your aquarium. I would never think of adding it without testing it first.I've had to use very little out of that big bottle so far. It'll probably last longer than I do. Five stars for a great product at a great price, & for making me grateful to not have to go through so many pains to adjust the top-off water all the time.

does the job
This does exactly as described. Will continue to buy as needed for our fish tank. Brings down level quickly.

Lowered my aquarium pH to a 7.7
I requested the KORDON #35326 pH Decrease Adjuster for Aquarium, 16-Ounce for the obvious reason but it only lowered the pH to 7.7 from an 8.4 tap water value. And, it did not sustain the 7.7 for very long. We are not sure why because there is nothing in our filtration system that could raise the pH. Using a different brand product, I actually saw a 7.5 pH result, but, again, not sustainable. So, we keep knocking back the pH a couple of times a week.

No eye dropper or cap that allows single drops
Bottle says add 4 drops per gallon. But the opening doesnt have a cap that allows drops, it just pours out. No eye dropper included. I guess you are supposed to purchase this seperately. Or else i was lucky enough to get a bottle someone forgot to add the dropper cap too???
