I had high hopes and high standards for Lisa's cookbook as I had purchased 2 of her chicken keeping books and was loving them. I am thoroughly impressed with this cookbook! The recipes and methods are very creative and very thorough, there are some I never would have imagined. Her methods of cooking with eggs is amazing. As to be expected, there are egg standards like hollandaise sauce, mayonnaise, omelets, etc, however, they are thorough and she even includes new ways to prepare them in some cases and sometimes even multiple ways. Even the simple fried egg is made glorious with multiple ways (not just sunny side up or a change in seasoning!) and how to achieve multiple levels of doneness. In all her recipes, she is through and describes each in a wonderful way. Some include a bit of a back story or cultural information but all of them tell you about the dish itself so that you know what you are making and how to approach it. I feel at ease just reading her description and the instructions on things I never would have approached in the past due to complexity, but she makes them simple somehow. The photos are gorgeous, the layout is well thought through and the hardcover is thick and sturdy. It makes an excellent addition to my small stash of treasured cookbooks. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves eggs but am tired of the usual fried egg or scrambled. Now, I'm hungry!

One of the best books I've read on eggs. The author explains quite a bit about eggs, (and those hens laying the eggs), and knowledge is power. I learned some new things and now want to have chickens. The recipes take a variety of skill levels. Don't be intimidated though as the only way to get to the highest skill level is with practice. There are photos that will have you drooling. One thing I found super helpful is the index at the back is broken up by how many eggs you need to make the recipe. I found it the book perfect for me.

Eggs are essential to my diet and happiness. I love 'em boiled, scrambled, poached, fried, over easy, in an omelette, though there are only so many ways I could make them with my limited culinary experience. I got this cookbook to broaden my horizons and find new ways to prepare egg dishes. I'm impressed by the thoroughness of this book. There's a whole section on raising egg laying chickens, and while I don't have chickens, I'm sure those who do or want to would really appreciate that section. There are recipes for every meal of the day, including dessert. If you love eating and cooking eggs, this is the cookbook for you.

I think the cookbook looks great but the cover was upside down. Not a deal breaker but not ideal.

Lisa Steele’s The Fresh Eggs Daily Cookbook is wonderful! I have cooked several of her recipes and each one has turned out so well and delicious. Each recipe is easy to read and follow. She offers beautiful photographs of many of the dishes. I really enjoy all of her information on eggs. I have learned so many fascinating and very useful things about eggs; how to choose fresh eggs from the grocery store, how to store eggs and especially all the delicious and correct ways eggs can be used in baking and cooking. We have our own hens so this recipe book will get a lot of use. I plan on baking my way through her cookbook. Every turn of the page offers another irresistible recipe!

Love the recipes in this book and how easy most of them are! No one wants a cookbook that has all kinds of ingredients you don’t typically have at home.

I love eggs, so I bought this book from Lisa Steele. The book is a delight. Lisa started with a primer on eggs: types, health benefits, how to store and freeze them, and many more. Then, she went on to the recipes. Lisa divided the recipes into egg or egg-based recipes for different meals. I like her emphasis on simple, practical recipes you can modify or use immediately. She ends with a section on sauces, and this section is invaluable.The writing is simple: nothing complicated. The photography is marvelous.If you love eggs, buy this book.

This was a gift for someone that has lots of laying chickens. Great recipes for how to cook eggs in so many different ways.

Use this book all the time! I absolutely love it and love her! If Lisa Steele ever has another one I will be one of her first costumers for sure!
