Just plug and play
Tested on a raspberry pi and ubuntu, it works perfectly, I'm using it in a university project, I'm getting the value with python on the raspberry pi.

Gets stuck
While scanning barcodes it just doesn't read it completely sometimes and then I need to reset the scan for that item and try again. Does for 2 or 3 times for 60 things that I scan at one go. Otherwise it's good.Love the sleep feature as it helps conserve the battery. Has a sturdy feel and a nice grip to it.

Excellent scanning ability, Short on range with wireless transmitting, only about 10ft.
Scans all size barcodes great and fast. No trying several angles to get to scan. Only down side is the range while being used ireless is only about 10ft. Our old unit that sucked at scanning had a 20ft range. Still worth the $
