Klein Tools CL320KIT HVAC Kit for HVAC Testing; Digital Clamp Meter, Non-Contact Voltage Tester, and Infrared/Probe Thermometer

I do a fair amount of repair work, including HVAC and automotive. I wanted an accurate and well built meter for electrical troubleshooting. I am not a full time repair tech and did not want to spend unnecessary money on a Fieldpiece or Fluke meter. This Klein meter is just right for my needs. The included digital thermometerand electric sensor work well enough and are welcomed included accessories. These all fit nicely in the included zip case. My only gripes are the rear magnetic hanger is not included and must be purchased extra and the lead wire probes do not have push-on alligator clips included. Overall, I highly recommend this meter set for the money spent!

I use everything in this kit. I love the temp probe. Can be used in so many ways. The continuity tester works perfect for quick checks. The meter is extremely accurate and very reliable. I love that it has a backlight for the screen when in dark areas. I would recommend this to anyone in need.

I needed a clamp style meter to measure AC current for a project and constituted the purchase because my old (30+ year old non clamp) Micronta multi-meter was falling to pieces anyways. The CL320 worked well for my immediate need. Now six weeks later I realize that it can only read DC current via the probes up to 200mA. I couldn't even measure the current draw of some LED lights for my truck. Also the clamp is for AC current only... I've never looked into clamp meters before and bought this in a hurry so I didn't realize but it's not an issue, I just wish it could measure more DC current. Also it defaults to AC for most settings so the SEL button must be pushed to switch to DC after turning the dial to position. This must be geared towards AC electrical use. It's handy so no regrets but I'll probably be buying another meter for DC stuff too. Ultimately it's my fault for not scrutinizing all specifications closely when I was in a hurry.

I am in college for HVAC technician and I highly recommend this kit to get started with. Klein tools have generously provided a digital thermometer inside the kit as well. Saving me time trying to buy it separately. The digital thermometer alone makes my instructor jealous lol. He wants to take it and use it in class and that alone tells you that the quality is great! Thank you Klein tools for giving me leverage in my career field.

This is a good kit, even though I don’t use it for HVAC. I like the non-contact voltage tester/flashlight, especially the lower voltage mode. Those curious about the temperature of a variety of things will like the infrared/probe thermometer. The non-contact voltage tester and the probe holder in the clamp are nice features. The meter itself seems to constantly try to auto-range, so sometimes its difficult to get a reading if you can’t hold the probes steady enough or there’s not enough surface area. I also wish it measured regular DC amps, and came with alligator clamp probe adapters.

Works as well as my fieldpiece.
