Q: is this a 100 amp regulator?

I can't help but notice the "Pontiac" in your name. This regulator should be fine for 100 amps, but, I believe it's designed specifically as a Motorcraft replacement. Check out vehicle compatibility for your specific application.

You will use the a/b and f connection tabs, and a ground., Start with the ground. I suggest a ring terminal under one of the mounting screws of the regulator, the other end to some bare metal spot on the chassis. F is your field, and you connect that the field terminal on your alternator. a/b are the "b lead" - I suggest a jumper between a&b and then connect the b to your alternator's b lead stud. That should do it - you installed a regulator for an externally regulated alternator. Everybody else - it's now pretty rare for an alternator to be externally regulated. Most have been internally regulated for 40 (?) years. Make sure you really need this before you start throwing parts at the problem.
