Love from the Crayons

I purchased this book without having read it based on good reviews and previous books from this collection. I found this book to be very negative. Why is love brown "because sometimes love stinks?" this is borderline offensive...or blue "because sometimes love is stormy?" or peach "because sometimes love can hide?" I think this book leaves a very negative feeling and misses the mark. I purchased it to read in an art class on valentines day but I don't know if I will be able to use it unless I edit it a bit... perhaps brown could be like a hug from your teddy bear, blue like the waves in the ocean, and peach like a warm fuzzy peach? I don't know... I am very disappointed :(

I anxiously awaited the release of this new Drew Dewalt Crayon Book. My second and third graders Loved The Day the Crayons Quit or The Day the Crayons came home. This one they said was a baby book. It was my mistake in thinking it was on the same lines as the two mentioned above. In my excitement at the new release I did not see the small size mentioned. I cannot see children past kindergarten age being interested in this book due to the size and lack of words on each page. I would recommend it to those preschool through possibly first grade. It is a cute book with a few pages that left me wondering...."Love is purple. Because it's okay to love outside the lines. "Looking forward a the next large size as in The Day the crayons quit.

I really love the Crayon series of books so I pre-ordered this one when I saw it on Amazon. I was disappointed when it arrived though. This is a small size book, but also very short only about 10 words (if that) on a page. There really isn't a plot or anything exciting about it. I guess ok to teach a young child or toddler colors. Considering sending back.

I placed an order for two of these several months before the anticipated publishing date. Love the series and always keep several on hand for gifts. Not only was the publishing date not met, I don't believe I saw anywhere at all not to expect a book in a minut version of the previous books mentioned and toted as Award winners in the series. Really now? Marketer, publisher, someone should really be ashamed!

I apparently did not read the size of the book because i was anticipating it to be the same as The Day The Crayons Quit and The Day The Crayons Came home. I bought this book thinking my second graders would love to read it around Valentine's Day. Unfortunately my second graders probably could have written this book.
