Good. Primary feature is price
The primary feature of this helmet is the price. It is a very capable, light, comfortable, large-viewing-area helmet at less than half the price you'd expect to pay for all that. I haven't had any issues with it. It is my first helmet with a grind setting, and I've managed to start welding in grind once or twice.I've also found that with my workflow, it's not as big a bonus as I'd thought it would be, as I tend to get hot with the helmet on, so grinding is a nice opportunity to take it off and swap it for something lighter. The point is, if you're really excited about the grind setting and you don't know for sure you want/need it, it may not be a reason to upgrade. However, everything else about this helmet is great also.Note: It's not carbon fiber, just painted so.

Nice
I love this helmet for the price!!! Sure it isnt real CF or hight temp fire proof kevlar...those cost$350-$600.This is an excellent hobby/light work piece of equipment for my budget oriented metal working arsenal . The self dakening screen is BIG and quick, with a very light shade to see by for pre-weld and grinding.

The Honeymoon Didn't Last Long!
Three Words: DON'T BUY IT! I liked it at first. Good thing I waited to write a review! It's hammered dog crap. The one good comment? The auto-dark lens works great... EXCEPT... both the sensors are at the top, so if your view of the weld it partially blocked from above, you get flashed. This happened to me several time before I figured out the problem. the lenses are a PAIN IN THE *** (butt) to change, and even harder to change if you don't want fingerprints all over them when done. Those flaws might be tolerable if you never, ever, flip the helmet up and down. The ratchet assembly is complete garbage. The knobs work loose. The mechanism slips from where you set it. In the end, it got so bad that the lens actually rested against my NOSE when it was flipped down. I tried to adjust it MANY times and it would soon slip from the tabs again. Finally, in desperation, I super glued it! That lasted barely 4 days. Now it just sits in the back seat and laughs at me for the $90 I wasted.

Below average
The biggest problem I had with this helmet is that the lightness/darkness knob broke off within the first couple days of light-use. Rhino send me out a new knob and that one also broke within a week (good customer service). Another issue that is important to note is that your school, employer, or local welding shop most likely do not carry replacement lenses for this helmet, I have only seen them for sale on amazon. It's also too big and heavy for the shop-welding that I do, though it does provide above-average neck protection if that is something you're looking for. One thing I liked about this helmet is that if you turn the delay all the way down, it can be very quick going from dark to light. My suggestion to first-time buyers and welding students is to use a cheapo model/ what you're given until you get a job because many employers will provide you with a helmet-- even if they don't, once you're employed you'll be able to purchase the helmet which best fits your needs.

Good Deal!
It's a pretty decent helmet for money. The shade works great and I love the grind feature. The only knock is the adjustors on the side loosen all the time. If you need a bargain auto darkening helmet, I think this is the best you're gonna find.

Great utilitarian helmet..!
This is the second one of these welding hoods I've purchased from Amazon. They are a pretty good helmet w good features for a great price. Brand name changed though, I guess there's a few identical hoods listed here w differing brands. I work as a welder so I know about the Huntsmans and Jacksons and Millers that cost upwards of $200 usually. This baby(original brand was 'Auto-helm')has never let me down. Has an effective 9-13shade auto-darkening, all solar-power lens(knob outside on temple), adjustable response time(knob outside opposite temple), grind mode(switch inside helmet), lightweight durable helmet shell, comfortable adjustable head unit, w polymer sweat band/absorber. Very comfortable to wear at length, seems durable as I have dropped mine many times, as will happen. Comes w extra outer clear lens. Can't beat it for under $60. I now have a main, and a back-up hood for still less than what one name brand helmet woulda cost..! Was satisfied enough with first to buy another.**Only concern is that I'm not sure if it's a good 'Primary-use' hood. The response time of the auto-darken lens may not be fast enough to prevent getting flashed, as I see my facial area slightly reddened over long periods of use, I'm talking months. (Although I have had the same problem w other hoods.!)
