Great book
Very effective and up to the point. Has answers in the back. That can be more detailed. One or two questions were wrong but overall a great buy.

Great Workbook for Learning
This is a really good workbook, even if you're just using it for extra learning practice. The exercises are well-structured and help build critical thinking skills. It’s a great way to get familiar with the test format while also reinforcing problem-solving strategies. Definitely a useful resource for third graders!

Child scored 97th percentile after using book
The book is sturdy without printing errors. There were 2-3 that I could not figure out. The explanations are helpful for the few that exist. The answer key is not as organized as it could be. It is jammed together. There are many examples of pattern matching and math problems. The total time to complete the book must have been 5-6 hours split up over several days. It was useful time spent. The outcome of using this book is understanding the format and learning ways to solve problems by recognizing the type of questions. Essentially, children should gain confidence by learning how recognize question types and how to solve them when encountered on the test.My daughter was 75th percentile on CogAT in grade 2 (level 8 I believe) the year before. I bought that level of this publisher’s prep book, which arrived only two days before the test that we scheduled on short notice. Two days was insufficient and it would not be enough time to complete this book.So I got this book at least a month before the next year’s assessment. She ran through it all before taking it in school in 3rd grade fall, which I could do because she was new to that school system. She scored 97th percentile overall and the lowest was 96th for one part.So my recommendation is to get the book, and my feedback to the publisher is to organize the answer key better.

My child tested as gifted
I thought my daughter was smart and would test in, but I know test formats can be confusing and throw things off. I bought her this book so she could practice with the testing question types and phrasing. She had a fun time working through the book in the week or two ahead of her test date and has qualified as gifted.

nice prep for a weird test
I hate COGAT. I hate that we test our kids to death and that the majority of people don't seem to understand math well enough to recognize the flaws and limitations of these tests as being predictive of an individual's cognitive abilities. That being said, we must all navigate the system we have rather than the one we wish were in place. This was a good book to help kids understand the format of COGAT. If you are not familiar with it, COGAT is intended to measure how well students can think and reason rather than measure mastery of content as typical tests do. As a result, a lot of kids are thrown off by the format and fail to perform their best. Going through this workbook helps kids understand the system so they can do their best.

In terms of print quality, this book is mediocre.
The quality of the paper and the clarity of the print are acceptable, but they do not meet the highest standards. The layout of text and images is decent, but nothing particularly impressive. The cover design and binding craftsmanship are also just average, lacking in innovative or exquisite appeal. Overall, this is a book of moderate printing quality, without serious flaws but also without any notably outstanding features.
