I use these to faster the bottom of my chain link fence into the ground to deter my dogs from digging. I drive in every foot or so in problem areas. After several years frost heaving causes a gap to develop between the dirt and the bottom of the chain link fence. Drive these in to anchor the fence and pile some gravel along the bottom of the fence to deter future digging.

Works for what I needed. Keeps my raised bed irrigation tubing secure.

This fixed the problem I was having with landscape edging I purchased, but didn’t think through.

Easy to use and hold very well

At first, we bought the 500 pack of "heavy duty" landscape staples from Home Depot. They were $10 more than these Garden Mate ones, and were SO flimsy! After numerous frustrated attempts at pounding the flimsy Home Depot staples into the compacted desert ground (prepped for turf), we returned them and bought these Garden Mate ones. Upon receiving the package, I thought I was holding a 15 lb bowling ball because of the weight! One we began using these, we found that we could drive them through the weed prevention tarp into the ground easier. They even went into the areas close to cement/concrete walls without much trouble (see photo); unlike the Home Depot ones that actually cried when we tried this.The photo where I'm holding 2 types of stakes/staples is of the Garden Mate one on the left, and the mangled Home Depot "heavy duty" one on the right. The Garden Mate ones were far more secure for the weed prevention tarp we just finished tacking down.Although I'm not a professional landscaper, the length and strength are far superior to anything I've worked with, and I will definitely be purchasing more of these once we start on our turf.

My order showed up on time. It was packaged well so no loss or damage. I ordered the 9 gauge which is very heavy duty. I'm using it to hold down landscape cloth to fend off predators around my chicken coop and Chicken run. These were exactly what I needed, very Stout and durable product would recommend. I was surprised when I received an email from customer service just checking to make sure my package arrived on time. This is a company that I will continue to do business with, they stand behind their product.

I bought these staples a second time because I was so pleased with the first purchase. I have used ground staples for years, both the u shaped ones and the square ones. The u shaped are definitely better, as far as collapsing at the the corners like the square ones do. But these are superior in every aspect, even superior to any previous u shaped ones I have had in the past. They are extremely thick, and galvanized and they hammer into the ground easily, even through thick landscape cloth, because they also have wedged bottoms, providing a sharper edge to penetrate the material and ground surface. I just bought a second set. If I run out, I will buy them again..

These spike/stake products are basically all the same. Don't beat yourself up comparing different brands and making yourself crazy with reading reviews. These, like the probable other 5 brands I've tried, perform as expected. Go for the highest gauge, at the best qty at the best price, use them as they are intended to be used, and you won't have a problem.I laid roughly 500 sq feet of weed barrier and they worked perfectly. You don't need to beat on these to get them in the ground. If you try and hammer them in on rock hard soil, of COURSE they will bend and be destroyed. Use smartly and you'll be happy. I was able to put most of mine in by hand.
