Q: How wide are these will they go on a fence that has a half in wide top?

They are about an inch wide. Maybe a little more.

Q: Would this keep chickens from roosting on the stall railing?

Sorry, but I'm a city slicker. I unfortunately don't have any experience with chickens nor know what a "sell railing" is. :-)

Q: Would these keep my cats off the fence?

Not in my experience...we have a regular wood fence and the kitty just climbs up the side and jumps over these. For cats you'd need something that would keep them from climbing up the side too...and if they're good jumpers, I'm not even sure that would work :(

Q: Has anyone used these under a fence to deter rabbits from coming into the yard?

They're not designed for under fences, but are for the tops of fences and other ledges. My suggestion would be to use 1/2 inch squares hardware cloth at the base of the fence.
