Probiotics are often a waste of your money and time, depending on which probiotics are in the formula. The bifidus or the B’s are more for the colon and the L’s are more small intestine which is what we call our gut and a lot of illnesses begin here! You need to be very careful when you’re introducing different lactobacillus’s into your gut because if you have any type of infection or fungal /bacterial overgrowth than it may make it worse! I don't think I'd be exaggerating to say this product has changed my life. I've experienced digestive discomfort in the form of irregularity, gas and bloating most of my life, but the fun really started when I hit my mid-40s. I've never been formally diagnosed, but my symptoms align with those of IBS with constipation. Not to sound over-dramatic, but the past 10 years have been increasingly miserable to the point that I have cut back almost completely on socializing and traveling due to digestive discomfort. (Dinner and a movie?--NO thank you! Road trip with friends? Forget it!!) A few years ago, I discovered wheat was a problem, and have eliminated that from my diet with much improvement (along with soy, wine, beer, added sugar, and most other "offensive" foods that could cause excess gas, bloating or intestinal pain) but still, was experiencing problems with digestion. I'm a 56 year old woman who lives a very healthy lifestyle--you'd think I'd feel better than this. At the suggestion of a friend, I started taking Jarrow 299v about 2 months ago, and I have noticed a significant change in regularity and in how my digestive system is working. I am no longer uncomfortable after meals, I don't feel abdominal pressure or pain after eating, and I am more regular. Could this be what normal people feel like? I have tried several other probiotics in the past but have honestly never had the results that I've experienced with Jarrow. I am only taking 1 capsule per day and doing just fine with that. I ordered the 3-pack, and the product was shipped quickly in a cool pack. I am storing it in the refrigerator till I use it. I recommend anyone with irregularity issues give Jarrow 299v a try.

After taking probiotics daily for a couple of months, I started noticing problems instead of improvements. I developed a bad taste in my mouth and stomach discomfort shortly after eating, which felt like indigestion/low acid. It made me realize that probiotics can cause issues if they upset the balance in the gut, so it’s important to pay attention and stop if things get worse.Suffered for a month and then Kefir helped to improve the situation.

I went through a period of about a month where I felt unusually worried and uneasy. Nothing had changed in my waking life, so I just attributed the feelings to work and the news. It was only after discontinuing these probiotics that the feelings subsided. I hadn't connected the two. After a few weeks, I tried it again, and the vague feelings of uneasiness returned. So it seems very likely that this probiotic is the cause.On the plus side, it did seem to help me to "go" better -- at least during the first few days. But it also seemed to interfere with my sleep. I wouldn't sleep as deeply as I normally do, and I tended to take up at 3 or 4, unable to go back to sleep.I believe that Jarrow is a good brand, and that the probiotic is high-quality. I just don't feel like it agreed with me. I'm not a huge fan of taking single-strain probiotics as it is; I tend to prefer to take multi-strain brands or to get my probiotics from fermented foods. I only decided to try this particular strain because it was reported to help with bloating and constipation. I did notice improvement in that area, but not enough to justify the uncomfortable side effects.
