Baleen Filters 50 sq. ft. Pool Filter Replaces Unicel C-4950, Pleatco PRB50-IN, Filbur FC-2390-Pool and Spa Filter Cartridges Model: AK-3049

This filter is an exact replacement for the Pleatco PRB-50IN filter at roughly half the price. Little else to say except I wish I had found out about this 5 years ago. I would have cleaned my hot tub filters once or twice then simply replaced them for $15 - about what the chemicals to properly clean a filter once cost. We all replace our HVAC filters rather than cleaning them - why should a hot tub filter be any different?HIghly recommended.JMT

I ordered this as a replacement for my above-ground hot tub. I needed a filter that was compatible with the Unicel C-4950 and the filter I received fit perfectly. The filter is working just fine, and I would definitely order the same replacement filter from this vendor again.

This is an excellent product in that it is a direct replacement for the filters my spa requires. The seller is fast to ship them and at this price, I decided not to try and clean them as often but to replace them to keep my spa in optimum condition. A really good, exact-fit product.

I just received the filter and plan to install it today. I'll let it run for a few weeks, take it out and inspect it. If there's anything unusual I'll update the review.Don't be pushed off by the low price of this filter. I paid $16 dollars delivered. I'll use this in my Coast Spa. When I have to purchase a filter at the local pool & spa store, I usually plan on spending up to $35 for the Unicel or Pleatco product. The product I received had part number AK 3049 on it. The brand was Aqua Kleen. I usually replace the filter once per year. Cleaning it with clean water only about 6 times per year.After opening the package I was very surprised at the quality of the filter. The straightness of the pleats, the pleat spacing, the internal support core and the encapsulation of the pleats into the poly urethane end caps, all were of very good quality. The media is a low weight, spun bonded synthetic polyester. The polyester band that is installed around the center of the element, it can be seen on the photo, could use a little more adhesive to secure it the pleats but it should work. I'm only speculating but this filter was likely not made here in the US.The filter is very clean being well protected by thermal stretch film. There was no odor coming from the open package. There's no reason to think that this element will not perform as promised. I do not work for this filter company or for Filters4less.

We inherited a hot tub when we moved into our rental that hadn't been run in over 3 years. We cleaned out the tub and then after fixing one broken seal and changing the filter it is working great! This filter fit perfectly and made it possible to enjoy our hot tub!

I bought 3 of these based on the relative inexpensive price and rotated them every 2 weeks. This allowed me to clean 2 at a time and always have one ready to be changed. I have done this for over a year now with great results.

Fits perfect, feels solid. Effective.

I replace our filter every year with one of these. Probably could get two years out of one with more often cleaning but the cost of these are so low it is easier just to replace.
